WTF - this thread is not for this but...

    The car is not sold

Jon has seen the car for sale and others have recommended it

He has expressed interest and further interest depends I guess on sale of his car

I responded to your questions with some answers, other were left as it had been pissing it down here

I am not going be out there in the rain after work checking the ****ing tyre tread and brake pads/discs

If you still want answers I am able to respond now the weather is better and I can have a look at what interests you

It's on the market until deposit received and not sold until final payment cleared

    Still interested in the car...?

Response by PM is appropriate to express your further interest

I did, thanks. Makes it much easier all round for getting in depth about a car. Hoping I get some serious response soon. To be fair the Jag looks great so will be chucking a few more photo's on. Also on the Autotrader site. See if I can jig someone's banking arm! Will keep an eye on interest in your car.
    Cheers

You never answered my PM (4 days ago) so I have to wonder why..

Thoroughly miffed and bereft of answers!

Edit: And you're right I no longer trust you: regardless of the car
Bit harsh & may be not the thread this should be posted in.

Should you not be posting this in Chris's for sale thread?

Perhaps it would be best for admin to delete posts in this thread that are not related to 'serious looking!' and that would include my posts as well...?

i dont know how much time you spend at the wheel during any single journey Jon but you will be comfortable in this car. i spend most of my life driving (truck driver) so i know how painful things can get in an uncomfortable vehicle like the renault premium i had last night. i could hardly walk when i finished work. as i am now on my 3rd galant, obviously i have no issues with them in that department. i used to live in southampton and 9 hours driving in the galant was a pleasure unlike the supra that i owned before my first GLS which i bought 5 years ago.
another significant factor is reliability. although i like the peace of mind of a breakdown service i have only ever called them out twice in that time. the first was to transport my car to a garage to get a new clutch (wear and tear item) and the second was due to a stone going through my radiator on the motorway which let all the water out (damage). i have never actually broken down nor had problems getting a galant started, even through the winter we have just had.
as for value, for the same money you may find a more comfortable car, or a quicker car, or a newer car etc etc etc but you will not find anything that offers a package like a galant. with any other car you will have to sacrifice one thing for another eg fast but unreliable, good handling but uncomfortable, space in the back, cramped up front etc etc etc. no other car offers the same value for money. putting aside your space requirements, a close comparison would be a 2001 EVO6 vs 2001 VR4. same BHP, both 4WD with AYC, both share some parts, particularly inside. the EVO would cost you twice as much!

    Thanks Scanny,

Yes, I have found some cars incredibly uncomfortable. The Jag is not but the Subaru Outback I had previously was. Fine short journeys but a trip to Swansea(50 miles) which I do regularly even now left me bent over with sciatica. A trip to Norwich 2-3 times a year needed cushions and stops every 2 hours! Ouch!
All the posts so far have convinced me what a good buy the VR-4 will be. You are cementing that view. The other point that is just as important when buying a hyper performance car like this is the Club support/advice available. I haven't seen a better site nor all the technical information available. Brilliant.
I also take your point about the EVO. Big prices.

    Cheers.

    Jon

    dodgy enquiries

    Hi guys,

Just to let you know I haven't disappeared. Jag still upon Pistonheads and Autotrader. 2 Enqs. from Autot! First was dodgy as when I replied this guy was at sea, didn't have an internet Bank account, wanted to buy it for his father as a B.day present, wanted an agent to pick it up for him and my paypal details. Told him wanted face to face contact and V5 docs. sorted properly. Never came back.
2nd enquiry today. Different email address but the the enquiry message was the same, plus sent same time, 2.20 a.m.
Not happy so sent details off to Autotrader enquiries to do their bit.
Shame as want to move mine on legit and free me up to get a Galant or a Leggy.

dont take any chances mate. a dodgey deal could see you losing a lot of money not to mention a car. you will find a legnum after your car is sold so dont take any risks

That's right. I would rather wait for a genuine offer, even if I have to drop it a bit, than get involved with the dodgies. Too many about.
Hope someone'll take a look soon anyway.
    Cheers,

    Jon

Jon, have only really picked up the end of this thread...
Trust me the right Legnum is out there for you...

I'm sure others have said this as well, you need to make sure that your Legnum is yours
Right time right place, you know what I mean...

    Thumbs up The Right One

Cheers, Andy. Yeah, you're right. Time to view/drive and consider. No rush. It's actually better like this as I have time to connect with you guys and get your invaluable advice Before taking the leap!
I noticed some guys get theirs then join the Club and maybe some thingsaren't quite right. I can't tell you how often I went on the Jag Forum and there's the new owner(usually a diesel!) bemoaning things going wrong within a week! They've only just joined.
Any car is an important buy and one of these has to be right first time, true? Expensive if you get it wrong!
