Still here somewhere........
works fine for me , it is java based so make sure you have enabled it
This is what you should see:
Blank screen of doom for me also
just downloaded lastest Java version and still all i see is the above blank screen!
*shrugs*
No idea, bud. It's a Java Applet. I don't know enough about Java to understand why that would or wouldn't work on different PC's. I am also running the latest version of Java (it updated yesterday) and I can see it fine.
Maybe it is a different Java add on, or maybe your internet browser/security plays a part? It's not my site, so I can't help much more I'm afraid.
more likely with sghom that it's cos it';s on an Iphone , Mike will be your security settings ?

Nicks page works fine for me!!
on a different PC now so can actually see them! wow you guys did a lot of work with it! love the stickers!
did you finish the 500? any tips or recommendations? would you do anything different if you did it again?
Check the second link, Mike.
We finished the race much higher than we started. The points of note that could have moved us up at least 1 place if not 2 or 3 were:
We used a racing seat with a 4 point harness. Very safe, but slowed down our driver changes massively when compared to people using a standard seat and an inertia reel belt. If you end up using a harness, spend a lot of time learning how to adjust it quickly!
Make sure your washers work and have water. We had to pit stop after the windscreen becoming covered in mud. Time was lost whilst we found something to remove the mud, rather than smear it around.
Don't clip a tyre marking the edge of the track and then land on it beaching the car for several laps!!!!!
Start with the petrol tank full, but don't fuel up too much. We spent too long putting in fuel that was still there at the end of the race.
Decide how mechanically sympathetic you want to be. We spent the race in third. We could have been a bit quicker if we spent the race in second. TRhere wasn;t enough time to change the gear on each straight and it unsettled the car a lot changing down to second as you turned in. Third meant revs a bit low leaving the corner, but second meant hitting the rev limit a second or two before braking for the corner. We went with mechanical sympathy and our car survived. Similar cars that went for second that survived finished quite a few laps ahead of us!
Errrr......
Have a shed load of fun! We did - I'm sure you will too. On the day teams were even helping each other get back in the race if they had problems. (Not too quickly if they were doing well, though!!)
Oh - and /TTIWWOP
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
good tips, i have a sneaky feeling this year is going to be a wet one!
washer fluid and system has been kept intact, rear doors are being welded shut. thinking the V6 isnt going to be worked as hard as others. oil change is in the cards for diff etc etc
mechanically wise the car seems sound so far, struts have been welded over where there was rust etc, bonnets been lightened, second skins removed from doors! its fun stripping a car back to metal!
we now need to judge this cars fuel economy and like you say Nick work out how much roughly each driver will need!
Read the thread of the VR4 team last night & looked like a lot of fun.
Good luck Mike have fun & what about a VR4 team next year?
The mighty Leedsnum has gone but the Airtrek mods will soon fill this space
How To:Contact Committee or Moderators.
Mike when is the race?
/If stated in thread just ignore me.
Steve,
its the weekend of the 25th September in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire!
Mike - it's the same place as we went all those years ago! When you set your tent up, make sure it is on the highest part of the field you can see! We had mental rain overnight and were lucky we were out of it. Some tents were 6" under water the next morning!
Mike this is the thread I read yesterday if you havent seen it all ready.
