    Front Brake Advice please

My front brakes need replacing, like yesterday.... so much so Ive banned the missus from driving the car.

Unfortunately funds aren't gonna stretch to a brembo upgrade right now (She's a PFL) (The car not the missus)

So what Im after is what standard replacements are people using?? Im thinking Redstuff pads but open for suggestions on disc's.

Occasional track use, lots and lots of fast road use.

    Thanks all.

Oh also any ideas where I can get a caliper serrvice kit from?

Carbotech XP8 pads, stock discs and braided brake lines seem to make a noticeable difference in braking performance on a budget

Pads and Disks is seriously upto whatever takes your fancy.
I've always had EBC TG Discs and Red Stuff Pads. Others have i think standard disks and DS2500 pads. I did link not long ago to a full set of Front and rear disks, pads and braided lines for around £300 ? But i can't remember where or what the thread was called ?
Some go for a standard disc and Carbotech Pad.. But Carbotech Pads are around £180 a set for fronts now And you only get half a pad thickness.

Carbotec Pads XP8's are however the best! And I have some you can buy for £150.00 brand new.

Couple them with some £80.00 camskill disks and you're laughing.

Is there anything I should know about compatability.

ie should a EBC redstuff pad be used with a uprated disc also, or should brand names be matched, ie ferodo pads with ferodo discs???

For lots of fast road driving and some track time, best pads are XP8 and with std discs...

..... and with the Carbotechs you'll need to clean your wheels frequently. Nothing wrong with this but it is a point needing to be made.
In the end you have to make your own decision ... and report back

Ive just noticed motorsportworld are listing the ds2500's £30 cheaper than camskill, filled in the price beater form, see what happens.

Has any1 tried Camskills grooved disc's?

i've got a set of these. evo 4-5 grooved discs and they are good. but the front ones were a bit of a nightmare to fit. bits needed to be filed down a tad to get them to fit. but i think this was due to the cars age and dirt n' grime built up over the years.

CRN Products are a company a few have used to get grooved discs for low money.

EBC redstuff pads are supposed to be much better if used with EBC turbogroove discs.

It's personal choice TBH and probably depends on how much dust you can put up with plus how much very hard driving you are going to be doing.
