    Talking rwd gearboxs

I was wondering if any rwd gearbox will bolt straight up to a 6a13tt? i know there was a l200 with a 6a12tt in it but i never asked what type of box it had. just curious because i have a old starion that needs a new motor and it would be mint if i could drop something different in it.

The 6A12 and 6A13 will bolt up to the same gearboxes, AFAIK. SO you could be halfway to your own solution. Unless the L200 was 4WD!

yea it was rwd but i don't know which box they had in it cause the standard motor would have been a 2.6 carby astron. might just had to find someone with a spare motor and test fit it.

a 6a12TT is 180 degrees different to our 6a13TT, so his solution wont work,

its most likely a custom adaptor plate or customised bell housing, wont be off the shelf.

    The FTO has a 6A12, not a 6A12TT.

you will need to be aware of the gear ratios, as it may all match up but it might end up un drivable,

No idea how the engine runs, but it is physically turned 180 degree in the engine bay, yes.

Google image results for 6a12tt and 6a12 show the engine on opposite sides. 6a12 is mostly FTO's the same way round as 8th gen Galants, 6a12tt is mostly 7th gen galants, with the engine on the other side.

Not looked at either set of results properly or investigated further......

yeah rx7's have the same clutch disc as i used a spare rx7 input shaft to allign my clutch (but diffferent pressure plate) so if you get a custom bell housing you can use a rx7 gearbox for a rwd. but if you intend to use it in a vr4 8th generation the engine will have to be rotated 90 degrees and the gearbox wont fit under the front subframe,
