You'd need to do some custom wiring with a light sensor. Definitely do-able but for the sake of flicking a little switch its probably a lot of work.

Apologies to the OP as this is slightly off-topic but my headlights auto switch off when the car is stationary (ie stopped at traffic lights) and come back on when I move off. Always seemed a bit wrong but I've kind of gotten used to it.

Anyway is this normal? Can I disable this feature?

I've seen these in the wiring diagrams (in the members section IIRC). I went hunting for the bits on mine but they weren't fitted.

    I'd be interested in one.

Whilst we are all looking for a ride down easy street & after auto lights, for the ultimate in lazy, has anyone come across rain sensitive wipers?

If you look in front of your left knee (when in the car of course!) - there is a rocker switch, put this in the opposite position, the lights will now stay on
why fix it the right way first time - when excessive swearing can occour when it all goes wrong when you don't?

Now with 5.7 liters of V8 muscle

Well fortunately for us the Japs put the wipers and indicators the correct way around on the VR-4, therefore the rain sensitive wipers are already installed, also known as wife/girlfriend/friend/husband/boyfriend (delete as appropriate)

Good theory, but I think it will be cheaper to install sensors than take the girlfriend everywhere I want to go!

Anyway, been looking into this & apparently most cars with this feature, ie pugs, sh!troens, bmw's etc work by measuring refraction using the same sensor that is used for the auto lights, so depending on how the ones vr4wgn have, it might be possible to do

Found something that might be of interest. Still doing some research but the Rain Tracker with headlight controls seems to do the job

    $80 bargain!
