Oh sod it, when, what, where, how, huh??
Yup, looks like you have the same climate control wiring thing outstanding as on mine Gary. Going by the diagrams it didn't look like anything too worrying however so i am just going to hang off till next time it is due in to Mitsubishi anyway.

Yeah, awesome link dude, thanks
Looks like I've got the Blower fan and Front Suspension work needing done.
Also, seems from the chassis no. the my car was the 25th to last pre-facelift model to roll out of the factory! Always nice to know :-)
Have any of the kiwi guys approached Mitsubishi NZ to see what their position is on this..? Are they willing to do the work?

"Also, seems from the chassis no. the my car was the 25th to last pre-facelift model to roll out of the factory! "
How did you find that out?
Just arithmetic my son
The EC5W chassis numbers are split in two, from 0000024 to 0101746, and 5100101 to 5103030.
I assumed the former were pre-facelift and the latter were face-lift (and I may be wrong about that...) but mine is 25 from the end of the first range.
Interesting!
So were all EC5W's VR4 Legnums? In which case, they made over 100,000 of them and only 3000 odd facelifts?!
EC5W's i think were VR4 Leggys.. EC5A's were Galant VR4's..
I don't think they counted in 1's when it came to chassis numbers as you will see from the table below.. Showing the From and To chassis numbers.. And then the total number of cars.. It don't quite add up

I hereby change my claim to "My car was the 25th to last of the EC5W models to roll out of the factory before they did something faffy with the numbering"
I think it's still worth being proud of.

There are 4 recalls for mine from what I can see. Just no idea what status they are.
I'm getting the 'install language pack' msg, then need the XP disc in but my DVD drive is fooked.
As regards contacting mitzi uk about import recalls, will my local dealer be able to check this or is there a number at HQ i need?
Mitzy UK: 01285 647774
Giz a sec on the recalls
Edit:
As far as i can tell, as i am on work PC and it don't work properly with that site.
1. Heater / Summat electrical that might catch fire.
2. Lower ball joints.
3. ASC.
4. Fuel Tank Seal.
Can't tell which has been done and which ain't ? But to hazard a guess i think the Heater 1 has been done and the other 3 are outstanding.

Ahh, thanks Wodj.
Looks like a few calls need to be made then.
Could be the other way round though.. 3 Done and 1 outstanding..Originally Posted by vrfan

When you speak to Mitzy UK, mention Clubvr4 owners club and also mention the recall site and the recalls it states. But don't say it shows any being already completed.
Yep, stealth mode selected.
Some info on this for the NZ guys: My car's in at Auckland Motors for service at the moment. They said the recall work is only covered by Mitsubishi for NZ new cars, not imports. Mine has the lower ball joint and aircon blower which needs doing. I was told it would take about 45 mins ($70 - with Club VR-4 discount) to check out the ball joint, but if it needs work I'll have to pay. He also said they hadn't serviced a single import for this recall, and that about 30% of NZ new cars needed the part to be replaced.
VRfan... Just put my Chassis number thru and it confirms that you only outstanding recall on that site is the Heater Thingumyjiggy..
Anyone help with mine, I just keep getting an error code.
