Wow that seems very high. For performance grippy tyre.
if they can give a great level of grip with a treadwear value of 300 then should do a lot of miles and be a really good choice.
But i have my doubts where were they made, does it say "made in germany" on the side wall or does it say "made in taiwan" or similar asian country.

    Bye for Now!

Germany Dave. The difference between "leading brand" tyres isn't a great amount in the dry because peoples balls aren't big enough to find the limit of them under normal circumstances, but in the wet there is a bigger difference due to the amount of Silica in the compound, and getting the ratio right is very important. That's why the Goodyear F1 is so good due to it being a decendant of the Formula 3000 wet tyres a while back! And in this country with our climate, we need good grip in the wet!

Hmm, so I could plump for a 91Y and sacrifice some stiffness for a little comfort. My shocks are pretty stiff as stock so this may compensate for them slightly.

There is the option of 235/45/17 94Y XL for about £5 a corenr more but I don't think I really need any more width, the edges just stick out past the arches as it is!

EDIT: Reading Grahams's post I couldn't agree more. The wet braking was actually the weak spot on the F1 Assyms but this has been turned around in the '2' version and is now the best performing tyre in the same test. It was dammn good before and I could never fault them even once, I am expecting good things from the new model....assuming I can get some!

17x8 ET35 I believe it was, couldn't get the 38 or even 42 that I think would have fixed this but not sure if I'd still clear the brakes, reckon I would given how much room I have between them and the spokes! They fill the back arches nicely and don't rub anywhere.

    miles covered?

The fronts are scrubbed at edges, nearly a bald rim, the rears were pretty much bald and changed 2 months ago at the last NW meet I was at.

Covered about 12k, nothing mental tbh.

Might have to go for some harder compound? Just seems really bad tbh, Adam mentioned that I only just got them last NW meet, I couldn't recall on the spot when but here's the thread.

    /sigh
