    re-mapping

Thinking of getting my car re-mapped. Where is best place to go and which is the best way to do it, i want more torque and more horsepower.

also been looking at an induction kit a blitz one - wanting one with a nice deep sound any ideas.

Don't get a pod filter, they are crap.

Now for the tune, you need to do a search for 7201, 7202 and 7203 and figure things out for yourself. It is a bit complicated and a normal reflash place won't be able to handle it.
If I'm replying to your thread and helping you out, it is because I like you and want to help out your VR-4 ownership. No other reason

Yours is probably a 7202, although the only real way to be sure is to take out the ECU and look in the case.

Yeah if it is a plastic case then it is either a 7202 or 7203 ecu

    My bet is on 7203...
    Ex: Galant VR4
Running 268 HP ATW and 443 Nm torque at 0.9 bar
    Now: Lancer Evolution 8 FQ-300
Running 325 HP ATW and 510 Nm torque at 1.6 bar

Easiest way is to check take off the little plastic panel in the footwell by your left foot (1 screw).

Then note the casing type and the 4 digit number on the side of the ecu.

    Metal case = 7201 ecu
    Plastic case 0288/0289 4 digit code = 7202
Plastic case plus any other code = 7203

but as stated above only way to be sure is take the ecu out and look inside.

The 7203 wouldn't have been it's original ECU though.

Being a 2000 car you should have a 7203 ecu

Move to australia and I'll tune it for you....

    I'm guessing a 7203.... Either way, an 03 or 02 is flashable

can you post up some photos of that Adam as the design of the boards for 7203's are not the same as 7201s so the cases are not swapable

There's a metal cased SRS ecu sitting above the engine ecu that may have confused you adam.

Edit: the SRS ecu is below the engine ecu.
