If these are oils then still best to use AMSOIL IMO...
Check thread by Amsoil about lifter noise...
If these are additives then kick yourself for considering/buying them and then get rid of them...
Yeah I have used them a few times,it makes a huge difference.
Although I'm not really sure where to buy it.

yes additives, proma mbl8 is more than your avg additive though, its about the only thing that will get rid of lifter noise other than amsoil of course, but ive read some people still get lifter noise with amsoil, i dont know where to get amsoil from here in nz, id be keen to give it a try though
I reckon give the MBL8 a try,you can pick it up for around $40.
I didn't put it in at the last oil change, and my lifter tick has come back badly,so it definitely does work.
Well all those additives are snake oil but if you want to waste your money and risk your car...
You really have to be a fool to use such stuff, additives, poison for your engine!
Don't take my word for it, check out posts by Amsoil
Funny thing is that I used amsoil a couple of times and it was rubbish. Got real bad lifter noise. It went away when I went back to castrol. My brothers lancer is quite bad and pro - ma is the only thing that stops it.
I'm sorry but I have been working on cars before I could walk, am a qualified mechanic and am I technical advisor for alot of car manufactures. So I am sorry if I choose snake oil over a product which just doesn't work for me

yeah i will be, ive always used mbl8 and the few times i didn't the lifter noise came back, worse with some full synth oils too, best combo i found is castrol magnatec and proma mbl8
most mitsi dealers have it
mbl8 works no question about it. i also didn't add it on my last oil change and the ticking is bugging me..
I am not commenting on choice of quality oils but I would always recommend AMSOIL for the VR-4 but if you choose a quality oil for your car and one that you are happy to use, sounds a good plan
But using additives at all, and with a quality oil...?
Not for me but I must be wrong, hey I am not a mechanic/engineer/DIY person...
But if thinking of additives you are best to check posts by AMSOIL
But it sounds like you are all choosing the snake oil...
I agree that VR-4 owners will make personal choices and cost is part of that
But as far as additives are concerned then his view is quite valid and when he has posted about them it has NOT been to push AMSOIL but to inform/advise/educate, however you want to take it, about additives
There is merit in reading his post on the matter...
Ryan used Amsoil, his lifts still rattled with the stuff, solved nothing
so sick of the amsoil fan boys, (it is not the end all and be all)
and the price and availability of it here in NZ is just ridiculous
if you want a lifter cover up use proma mb-l8,
if you want to fix it, take out your lifter and clean/replace them, simple as that
Sorry for being unhelpful on here
I have no idea about current cost of oil in NZ...
I did not think that I was pushing an oil only warning about additives but hey, 10,000 miles and the message can get distorted...
I will leave you alone to do your own thing..
BNT sells the stuff. they have it there off the shelf. i have a new bottle if you are near..
