I'd say they are not too easy to come by.
I had the same problem last year and I removed
the sump, located the crack (usually caused by bottoming out)
Had it welded, and refitted it.
Its by far the cheapest way to cure the problem.
old age and treachery will outdo youth and skill anyday
I have a sump pan at the unit that is leaking , there is no sign of a hole but I'd not want to put it back on a car unless it had a plate wleded over that area and shot blasted to ensure it had not started to do it elsewhere .
Let me confirm that it is serviceable and get back to you
Is a common problem that the sump becomimg porous on our cars due the rust.Is this true for cars running on Uk roads for longer time.My first Galant it was just 6year old when start to leaking. This summer I swaped 2 sumps for same reason, one on my '99 Vr4,second one on a '03 Galant.
