There is a place called MT Motortec in Brierly Hill, but their number appears to be a fax machine!!

There is a rumour that Evesham College has a 4WD rolling road, but I can't find any info on it.

Chipped UK are the one in Bromsgrove (Near Jefferies Tyres, Jason) but they want £72 for a simple run and want to charge more for logging stuff. They tried to tell me that is a good price too!

    STOP THE PRESS!

Although I found out that Weston went under, I just found out the unit was bought out and split into 2 units, a garage and... a performance company known as Rev It Road and Race

And they still have the Dyno Dynamics with the Shoot 44 profile

The best bit? Individual power runs are only £35 incl. VAT, or £25 incl. VAT per car if there's more than a few

They're generally open 9-5 Monday-Friday and Saturday 9-1, but will open for longer, even Sundays, if it's worth their while (ie. club dyno day)

Edit: I'd like to say that even though Rev It are much closer to a few of us than Eurospec, they're not a replacement for the expertise and friendliness for Ben and his team.

    Cool! Nice find, Jason!

Steve - I think my manual isn't geared high enough to double my preferred motorway speed, even if it did have the power to achieve it!!

Or could just swop out the caravan for the VR4!

why fix it the right way first time - when excessive swearing can occour when it all goes wrong when you don't?

Now with 5.7 liters of V8 muscle

I'd be up for a mini meet, I couldn't make the guilford one but would be interested to see how mine gets on particularly as I'm waiting for John to get back to me to arrange getting this new ECU swapped & decat fitted.

Its about half the distance for me to that place aswell. We could do a mini meet there and use eurospec for the big meets

Thanks tomasz, I currently have the stock recirc dv on as I took my nomad off to clean it, so am guessing it must be one of the other 2 so will look for another boost solenoid to try.

Looking through the thread and the pictures of the day, it seems nobody took a photo of Tim's 'speed dirt'. It would have been nice to see exactly what it was that helped his car produce such healthy power

Atik, it was in stealth mode - invisible to cameras.

I will be adding some extra horses very soon and as a special treat I will clean it. May even get it on the rollers again afterwards to see what its gained.

'97 Manual Legnum in silver with some subtle mods

My first VR4 - '97 Legnum Dark Green & mean ...it was love at first sight - now sold

Agreed totally to compare Car A to Car B - but not always feasible. This still wouldn't help compare to any other cars though.

Unless you're competing the ET generally doesn't include the reaction time. Launch is important in getting down the power as quickly as possible - but with the Auto VR4s most just tend to floor it. Manuals are trickier.

See also here where 100's of cars are compared with 1/4 mile times - those data plots show a pretty good correlation between ET and HP.

    http://www.stealth316.com/2-calc-hp-et-mph.htm

The calculators would suggest Nick, Kinkyafro and Swinks should be capable of a sub 14sec 1/4mile time (assume car+driver weight ~3600 lb) with some of the others not far off.
