....Alan, the landlord of the abbey is off on his holiday next week.

Australia for a month! Sun, sea, surf.... & the final ashes test in Sydney.








His mum died last night. :-(

That's not a nice reply Chris.

She has been ill for some time with cancer, she was 81.

To lose your mum at anytime is bad enough, but so close to Christmas makes it even harder. As far as I know they are still going. But as for enjoying the holiday of a lifetime....... I doubt it.

Not good news at all mate. My gran died at the start of December a few years ago & to say it wasn't the most jolly christmas ever is an understatement!
The holiday might take the edge off a little though...

The funeral is next Thursday .... They fly on Friday

I have some idea of the emotins around this time...

My mother died with respiratory problems after treatment for cancer...

And last Friday my brother-in-law died from bowel cancer and his funeral was yesterday...

An emotional and distressing time for family and friends as life goes on...
