Check ALL the fuses! Even the ones that appear unrelated!

And that's the ones behind the driver's right knee cubby, as well as those under the bonnet.

If one has gone, it can have a weird effect on other areas of the electrics!

Yes check the fuses, this happened to me ALL interior lights went, radio, rear lights. I think 1 fuse went and somehow managed to blow bulbs! If a fuse has gone there are some spares in the fuse box in the engine bay as far as i can remember.

Mike, just write in this thread if you need some wiring help, it's too expensive/difficult to discuss wiring over the phone between UK and Denmark

Isn't it exactly what brake lights are supposed to do?

    You mean tail light?
What side is it? Driver or passenger?

If the front position lamps is still working, but tail lamps is not - you'll need a new bulbs
If the front position lamps is gone too - check the fuses in the engine compartment

Like Nick says, check the bulbs. Just before Christmas I found my brake lights weren't working, the ones in the light clusters, but my third taillight was fine. This was whilst the car was on a ramp having its tires changed. I secretly panicked. How do two bulbs blow at the same time? Once home I checked the bulbs and one brake light had blown leaving the other, unblown bulb, not to work.

Michal, hope this helps, you're just around the corner from me, I'm in Ealing! :-)
