What grade oil did you put in when doing the lifters 0-30?
What grade oil did you put in when doing the lifters 0-30?
Yes Amsoil SSO
Ive got some of these lifters to fit but was going to run them with 5-40 pro S as when I got the car it had just had a 0-30 amsoil change and tbh it was so thin it looked like water, is it worth trying a slightly different weight oil and seeing if they shut up?
If these lifters are duff whats the score- is everyone just stuck with them?
Try a thicker oil! And just because it has amsoil in it it doesn't mean it's going to solve all of the worlds problems. My car ticked it nuts off on amsoil and I know I'm not the only one

John has fitted mine too at the weekend. Car is still with him, says it sounds like yours Kim! Not Good!
I agree that just because it has amsoil in the vehicle it doesnt mean it will be silent, any good oil will do the same job- I personally use Motul or fuchs products but that doesnt mean they will be any better or worse then amsoil.
What I'm saying is that swapping the oil out to a slightly different weight will show if the lifters run quieter when warm or not- at the moment it sounds like these lifters arent made exactly to mitsi spec and dont get on with the warm mitsi spec oil weight.
Hey Pete, hows it going dude?
I think i would try a different oil- go with a 10W40 in it and see before binning the lifters.
I appreciate that there is obviously a differnce between before and after on the same oil, but i would be tempted to try a thicker oil and see what happens. Got to be cheaper than changing lifters.
Cheers,
Ben.
Hmm very tempted not to fit mine now
The Mitsi tech that fitted Kryton's said that they are cheap and poor quality compared to the original lifters......
I'm overdue an oil change which I was putting on hold until the new lifters were fitted but I may just go ahead and change the oil now with a good flush and see how I get on with the current ones.
Afterthought...... Would it potentially be a better option to take the old ones out, give them a good clean and stick them back in again? I believe I heard or read somewhere that they can be cleaned with some paraffin or something? Or is it a case of once they've had it they've had it?
Based on that, they are coming out again then. Oh well, at least he only changed half of them
I am concerned with what i have read so far with these Lashers. I have sent an e-mail to the supplier. I will report back as soon as i have a reply.
I will also get mine fitted, to see the problem 1st hand.
Regards
Glenn
I have contacted the supplier and they are also concerned about the issues, and seem keen to rectify the issues..
I would like to get the Lash adjusters fitted to my own car 1st so i can give the supplier 1st hand data/info regarding the issue. I will then supply them with faulty Lashers and OE Spec good condition Lashers. I may even purchase a New Lasher from Mitzy to send with the faulty product..
Will update further.
Regards
Glenn
Cheers Glenn for enquiring, much appriciated
Here is my thread from a while back on what I did with the very noisy adjusters in the N/A I had.
Just got my car back with Lash Adjusters fitted. Sounds like an old ford transit! Really horrible for a performance car.
Anybody else fitted theirs? The oil in mine is 10W 40 and recently changed so changing your oil shouldnt make a difference.
