    1997 COTY VR4 - Glasgow, £2k

    YEAR:1997
    COLOUR: Pearlescent white
INTERIOR: Lovely black leather that only the COTY's have as standard!
MILEAGE: c90k (127k on clock, converted at 95k miles)
    R.F.L. EXPIRY DATE: 31st July 11
    M.O.T. EXPIRY DATE: 6th Sept 11
    PRICE: £1850 ono
CONTACT DETAILS: pm me or 07737678473

A change in circumstances means I no longer need a big car and I have a hankering for lightweight Lotus f... only had the car 6 months but it's been excellent and I will definitely miss it! Lots of fun considering how practical it is and also a complete godsend in the recent snow and ice!

Its a 13yr old car and as such the outside has a few marks (detailed below and will be shown clearly in pictures) but a little TLC could bring it back up to scratch cosmetically. Other than the specific things mentioned though it is in excellent condition, runs really well and after my MOT bill of c£500 this year i'm certain it'll sail through the next one!

I've always heated / cooled the car and the previous owner (had it for 2 years) was a club member and looked after it really well also.

    Good bits -

Runs perfect, never misses a beat and pulls really well right through the gears in auto and tiptronic
New plugs, oil (amsoil) and filter in the last 2k miles
4 new tyres within the last 1k miles, 2 Eagle F1's and 2 barum (made by continental)
At the last MOT it needed 1 rear shock and the offside rear brake lines replaced at a cost of £400 due to having to drop the rear subframe, I got them to replace the nearside while they were in there!
    RPW downpipes
    New wideband lambda sensor
    Carbon dash and gear surround
    7" D-Din DVD/MP3/USB/SD/Bluetooth stereo
MBC upping boost to 10psi (gauge in coin box)
Spotless interior (looks a bit more modern than standard with the carbon), only sign of wear is a little scuffing on the drivers seat
AYC fluid never goes down and is the right colour, the AYC kicks in when it should and doesn't kick in when it shouldn't!!
All electrics work, including the cold pack extras like heated wipers!
Air con works perfectly and is icy cold

    Bad bits -

Front bumper has had a scratch / dent and has been repaired but the repair area (about 3inch in diameter) is only primered so it is grey.... thought about getting it sprayed but one of those things i've never got round to
Same thing on the nearside sill, scratch repaired but still grey primer, approx 6inch in length
Rear bumper and boot dented, looks like a previous owner has reversed into a pole
Only comment mechanically is that when it's cold the tappets are noisy but investigation leads me to believe that there isn't really a way round that unless you spend £400 on lash adjusters and as it's not an actual issue I could never justify the cost!
Wheels are in good condition but the lacquer has come off, could do with being sprayed... spare set of 17's can be thrown in at no extra charge, they would really need refurbished before gong on the car though (imo anyway)
No rear headrests, previous owners dog took a shine to one and ate it so I have 1 but never put it on as it would look odd with just 1

Will get pics up of the big beast up later, including detail of the marks I have mentioned.

I'm in the Glasgow area..... any questions drop me a PM or give me a call.

    Cheers,
    Chris

    Sounds nice car, white...

And yes, pictures (inside and bodywork and wheels) would be good to see and help the sale...

Unfortunately the only pics i have to hand are from when i bought it in June. The only difference is the wheels as in the pics it is on the 17's that are included in the sale (although they are a bit rough!) and it is now running on the standard 16's with new tyres.

I'll get some new pics taken and up this evening but for anyone wanting to see some just now please PM me your e-mail and i'll send them over.

    Cheers,
    Chris

Just remembered another couple of things -

    - The car got a new radiator fitted (appears to be a common issue) approx 2 years ago
    - New discs and pads all round approx 5k miles ago
    - New flat blade aero wipers in the last month

I think the price is VERY good for a COTY. Should be snapped up soon I think. Thing is in the current financial climate, nobody really wants a gas guzzling performance car, so the target buyers for these cars is very small. Just be patient and I am sure you will get some interest.

I think the price seems reasonable.

I would be interested, but cannot justify the extra cost at the moment.

    Good luck with the sale.

It's a tough balance when you want a quick sale and haven't had a sniff in over a week..

I got a good deal when buying so doesn't hurt too much, nothing suspect, only faults with the car are cosmetic and shown in the pictures.

Hopefully someone will be along soon to get a cracking car...
