Rota GTR Gunmetal Wheels + Falken FK452's (in Feb)

Thought I would advertise these on here before allowing the hounds on the MLR at them. Please let me say, I am only 90% sure I am selling them at the moment so really want to test the water to see what interest there is out there.

    So, here's the details:

    Rota GTR 17 x 9 ET25 in gunmetal
Falken FK452 Tyres - minimum measured remaining tread on fronts is 5.7mm and rears is 5.5mm
Supplied with black wheel nuts and lockers
    Purchased in Feb 2010
Standard 5 x 114.3 fitment, and will clear brake upgrades such as Brembos

    More Information:

The wheels are in excellent overall condition, however one rear wheel was kerbed recently and the damage is about 2 inches long. I would imagine this was an easy repair for a wheel specialist, but there are none in Plymouth, so today I have painted the damaged area as best I can using genuine ROTA touch up paint (cost £20 for a nail varnish sized bottle). Below are pictures of before and after. Please be assured the wheel is straight, it was just caught on a high kerb in a car park.

There are also light surface scratches around some of the areas of the wheel nuts, where they have been on and off the car several times. The wheel nuts are also perfectly useable but (as they are black) some of the paint has come off and a new set would be a nice touch to finish things off.

Overall I would grade them as 9/10 (apart from the kerbed bit as mentioned).

Now, you may have seen these wheels are 9" wide. As great as this is visually (and of course they will clear any brake upgrade such as Brembos), this may cause an issue with fouling of your arches - particularly on a lowered car. Here are the stats compared to VR4 facelift wheels:

VR4 Facelift wheels = 16" x 6.5" (ET38), these are 17" x 9" (ET25) = 19mm less inner clearance and they extend 45mm more outwards. In the pictures below you can see how they fill the arches on the Wagon.

    VR4 Facelift tyres = 225 x 50 x 16, these are 245 x 40 x 17 = 3mm smaller overall diameter (or -0.48%). The accepted tolerance is +/- 2.5%, so well within this and very minimal effect on your speedo/milometer.

I think that's it, other than to say the wheels/tyres cost me £945 last Feb. At this stage I am looking for £600 ono if you collect them. If someone wants them they will have to wait for me to source replacements before these can be collected.

So, I throw it open to comments etc.

They will fit on a VR-4 ok, but only with 225mm wide tyres unless someone's car is really low and has had the guards hacked into quite a bit.
If I'm replying to your thread and helping you out, it is because I like you and want to help out your VR-4 ownership. No other reason
