i'l agree with the bouncy... thats why they arent on my legnum yet. although, they were alot better than standard springs when it came to cornering
theres plenty of them on ebay, range from 100-130 but all are listed for 'galant v6 excl est'

Abit confusing this thread people firing in left right n centre lol
Whats the OP got?
i've heard from vw and mazda owners that apex springs give a harsh ride too
Just something to note on the V6 (not sure on VR but probably the same). I had eibach springs and bilstein shocks. Bilsteins were i believe uprated standard size and eibachs reduced height by 30mm (?). On good roads the ride was really good and road holding when pushed became firm and again good. But..........on anything but good roads I got really fed up with the bouncy feel especially on the rebound almost feeling like it hadn't compressed enough in the first place and was shooting back up. I got to the stage where I ordered a set of tein coilovers and love them. However, I did find the problem when I dismantled it. The Mitsi bump stops are mahoosive. What was happening was on bumps it was hitting these and bouncing back. When stationary there was only about an inch of travel before making contact with these. So, they will either want trimming down (plenty of meat on them) but not so much to shock the car if you do bottom out, or you may want to look carefully at the shock length you are using. I did mention this to the guy who bought my old kit and I think he trimmed the mitsi bump stops and was ok. HTH
The apex springs landed on fri!! Should be on the next couple of weeks!!
Chris thats what i had on my v6 sport 40mm drop all round with 18" rims & 225/40-18 tyres, i paid £101 for them and i must say they didn't seem to bad at all for the money, although a friend said to me they are known for sagging after time, i didn't have to car long enough to notice any problems like that. but overall i was happy with them.
what dampers are you going to use?
i did find after fitting the springs the oem mitsubishi/kyb dampers were getting hammered & it did feel very boaty. i bought a set of monroe reflex dampers to fit but never got round to it, so i have just fitted the reflex dampers on my v6 elegane with std springs and i must say they do feel stiffer & seems to handle 100% better than std dampers. so could only be better with lowering springs
i will get another set of apex springs to go with my new reflex dampers . so if you feel you get the same boaty feeling give monroe reflex a try.
Thanks Adam i was thinking about new dampers too but funds are a bit tight at the mo. Likely will get ones in the future tho. Where can i get the monroe dampers from?
chris, i got my monroes from ebay a motor parts company in ireland, for a set of 4 with delivery they were £200,which was a good deal as i have seen them for £80 each corner then you have delivery charges on top. if you would like to know what company i got them from i will dig out the paperwork for ya!
just a note on my 85k v6 elegance, when i took the original dampers off they were all finished, leaking and when the piston was pushed in they never returned up,unlike my new ones which popped straight back up, so it just shows that dampers do need changing around 60-80k. in the uk we dont really change them unless they are knackard, unlike the states where they change most dampers around 60k.
Thanks mate that would be great. My elegance's got 71k so likley needin a change anyway! Gonna be an expensive month with that and trying to sort out some new brakes! cheers
iv got standard dampers on. and have had to replace a couple as they have broke. might look into some upgraded dampers in the future though.
Im on 18's and sheepdog lowering springs, if you want a picture. uncertain of the exact 'mm' drop tho.
Oh yeah liking that stance!
