Got to see this last night on the way home from the RR day.

And I have to agree with Brendan - it is a bargain!

I know Mike has a few bits and pieces he wants to attend to first to get it fully ship-shape, but will then attack the weight-saving!

Considering it has windy windows and paper (practically!) doorcards, I was surprised to note (and point out, it seems!) that it has air-conditioning. After looking on ASA, it might have been the only factory optional extra added. So it looks as if that is the first victim, as well as the rear seats, stereo, speakers, doorcards...

    Fun times ahead!

This may sound like a stupid question but I know absolutely nothing about these cars: does it have power steering?

Everytime I see a caged car out of the uk, im shocked to see that no-one goes out of their way to install the a-pilar bars out of the way..

Anyhow nice little toy... needs some proper race seats and harnesses in there.

Standard 1 Spoiler sourced, will see how that looks, originally i liked the E3 spoiler but they are getting hard to source. This project isnt about the looks so the less money spent there leaves more for mechanicals and track days lol

Sorry only pic from the front, as it was being washed.

Good choice & E3 spoilers are the best. Hopefully should cheer you up after selling the 6.5! This is what my RS looked like once I had finished playing with it.....

Hopefully that will inspire you a bit Still miss it but at least the new owner is still having fun with it in Finland
Possibly the only VR4 that was driven by the current owner before being registered..... & it's a UK car

Thanks I had it for just over 5 years & never did finish off getting the exterior how I wanted it. Just seemed to keep ploughing money into it & still looked like a bit of a dog. This was my inspiration & spent many days & nights trying to track down the gravel wheels. I think that all E1-3's should look like this so I would always go for these graphics (personal preference)....

The way the A pillar bars are mounted are down to the cage designer rather than the installer. If you look at any of the true motorsport cages they do go through the dash as they have to triangulate through the bulkhead also. Not to downcry what Mike has bought, as its a cracking car for the cash, and its going to be loads and loads of fun, but it was never built for rallying so the cage doesnt really need to be all that.

Looking forward to seeing this in the flesh though mike, but I still reckon you leave its battle scars on!
