Growling out 349ft/lb torque, 296 fly HP @ 0.9 bar
Brought but now its been to the garage i wish i hadn't the car is far from road worthy, as it needs new brake discs and pads all round, a rear passenger side caliper as the bleed nipple was been snapped off at some stage, front springs as both are broken (MOT failure), a CV joint which i knew about and had budgeted for! These items where found when the car was booked in for a CV joint and Brake Fade, so i was having the brake fluid changed Which now cannot be done until i recieve a Caliper and Springs off Nutter John (MY HERO !
).
I am thinking of getting VOSA involved as it only had an MOT in Feb, and the springs have been broken for longer. I feel that down Swansea way there are not any proper mechanics, who should stick to horse and carts!
Sorry but this is how i feel! I wish that i had waited and saved a few more pennies up! I am now the laughing stock at work!
Now Mitsubishis are a Joke at work, this is my 5th Mitsi ! perhaps i should have stayed with Nissan!
No Point conatcting VOSA as the MOT is only valid at the point of time it is being printed , beyond this point the roadworthyness of vehicle can not be assume becasue of an MOT
Shocking that the bleed nipple was snapped off as that is down right dangerous to be on the road
Glad I could help you out

Your my Hero!
Just a bit annoyed that the springs appear to have been broken for some time! plus the bleed nipple bit, it's snapped off and totally corroded in the caliper!
Plus the front Discs are well under the minimum width, and the N/S/R disc is so sored that it looks like an old LP Record.
But many thanks for all your help, i will definately contact you with any thing else i need.
know how you feel mine blu the gearbox on the way home from buyers house
Sorry to hear of your troubles...
Sadly not a complete surprise, the seller only appeared on CVR4, it seems, to sell the car...
Thats a right bummer! I never sell a car with faults like those. Before i sold my GTO the water pump started leaking so i had that replaced along with the Cam belt all tensioners and Idlers including the hydralic one!
I just makes me Cross (me putting it politely).
im sorry but if it seems to be to good to be true it normally is.thats a very good price for the age car and i assume that it may have been lower than that.
the bits you need dont cost the earth and after its done could be a very nice car for you.
any car you buy has history and unfortunatly the one you brought has a few issues witch were either hidden from you or were genuinely missed in the past. dont be put off this still can be a very nice good car.
whats saying that if you had brought a nissan that the engine wouldnt have just blown to pieces as soon as you got 5 miles away from the buyer.
chin up
and yes chris you are right he did only appear to sell the car.
Yeh, i haved sent him a few texts tonight! i am soooooooo hacked off! I feel like crying, but i wont!!!! We allowed a bit in our budjet to sort some things out, but when you buy a car you expect to be able to drive it! Never mind another learning curve, i suppose! But once bitten never forgotten!!!!
Cheers Wobble, i sup pose with a Nissan, i have a bit more experiance as i work in a garage that speciallises in Skylines! And know many of their problems, but i couldn't afford a 4WD Skyline with Tip!
So far today i have spent around £400 with parts and still have the labour to pay (yes i still pay. but at a reduced rate, as i do not expect people to work on my car for nothing) I get all my parts at cost too!
It will be a really good car when its all sorted, as its what we wanted. I am so glad there are traders on here that dont rip you off with 2nd hand parts like some other forums/clubs i belong too! Nutter John is my Hero
Yes just look forward to happy ownership and decent priced spares and advice from CVR4 will help you on your way...
It is a shame when this kind of thing happens, when I bought my car the disks were rubbish too and i ended up spending the money for something that I was happy with. Just goes to show it doesn't hurt to have an inspection beforehand, or at least look around the car at as much as you can.
Once thiese things are sorted I think you'll be a lot happier
'97 EVO 4 GSR
X reg VR-4 saloon with EBC, Evo 8 wheels, exhaust, HIDs for £2200.
You've got a bargain even after replacing brake components and suspension springs. Did you actually look at the car before you bought it as some of the complaints you've made could have been found beforehand. I don't like to hear of people being or feeling that they've been ripped off but this thread has given me a few cruel chuckles.
It might be a good idea to get someone to check over the whole car just in case there are some other nasties that surface during your ownership. There might be a used chewing gum in the door pocket! LMAO still.
Bring it to the Rolling Road day and see what it does.
Out of interest, whereabouts in the U.K. are you and what's the name of the Skyline specialists you work for?
In answer to you Alan, i was unable to travel to Wales to see the car, and here is the reason why. The car is for my husband who suffers with a condition called Agrophobia (Fear of open places, too many people etc) he also suffers with a bad back and hips due to Osteoparosis. He has several other problems but they are the main 2. He cannot travel very far without getting either panicky and suffering severe pain. So I asked if the car could be delivered (after asking many questions) at a cost to us. Which was agreed. Expecting other people to be like ourselves and when doing a deal with anything our word is our bond! If we are selling a car we put down every fault with the car, but 99.99% of the time there are no faults as we keep our cars in a very good order and condition. When i sold my GTO recently, the potential buyer asked if i could get a years MOT on it, for his peace of mind, Which i did, and it passed with flying colours. As i have just said if anything needs doing it gets done!
It appears that now a days there are hardly any Gentlemen around (this is a Motor Trade expression, and not a sexist remark) Meaning a handshake or word of mouth is gospel.
Further to your reference about the chewing gum in the pocket, the car was filthy inside as well, and also these faults where discovered in 10 minutes, when it was on the ramp to have a CV joint replaced which i was told about. I am doing to have the car properly checked over, by an independant inspectorate e.g the AA and on there report i feel so strong, that people can sell cars in this dangerous condition, i may be taking the matter further.
As you support people who sell cars in this state, i have made a note and would not buy a car from you!
As where i am based in East Sussex, and as i know that you are on another forum that i also belong to, my boss is Andy W!
I would just like to say to all the others that have commented on this post, many thanks for your supportive and kind words.
