    The Mach Loop

Just wondering if anyone else on here ever goes to the mach loop in Wales to photograph the low flying jets? I've only been the once but intend to go a few times this year.
Heres a couple of my shots (not great but you get the idea)

I tried to do this at Ladybower reservour for the dambusters flypast , got up at 5am to make sure I was ther in time. I was that sleepy i forgot to pick up the camera, I had a great view and would love to try it again.

How close do they get? - What lens were you using?

I did similar myself with the dambusters flypast.
I'd say they get within 4-500 metres. Those 2 shots were taken with a cheap tamron 55-200 lens, Next time I go thou I will be hiring a canon 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM from lenses for hire as I didn't get as close or a sharp as I wanted.

Nice pics - IIRC it is 'fast jet' training that is based in Wales...

There was a pic from there in the paper a few week back where the co-pilot held up piece of cardboard with I'm with stupid written on it.
The mighty Leedsnum has gone but the Airtrek mods will soon fill this space

Nice pics, Ben. Catch 'em while you can because 10 of the 12 FJ pilots in training at RAF Valley were made redundant last week

Great pics, I love aircraft (as my many aircraft threads will testify) and this seems like a great vantage point. Can't wait to see more photos
