Speedo converted so speed shows in MPH but ODO still showing in KM.

On the latest MOT I had the following fitted:
both rear wheel bearings
full set of lower front arms
also 2nd hand callipers all round as originals started to cease on the rear.

Recent oil and filter and coolant change done with amsoil oil, and I have always used amsoil since I have owned the car, nothing else.
ayc fluid change last year.

when I bought the car it had a new water pump, and clutch plate fitted, as well as cam belt, recipts to prove.

Extras
I have also had the 2 rocker covers powder coated in red and pipework done in black as well as the strut brace. Some other small engine pieces as well.
Evo6 (I think) alloys fitted and again powder coated in black, the front tyres have plenty of tread but back 2 could do with being replaced shortly.
Windows tinted all round, but only a light smoke on the front.
De-Cat fitted
K&N panel air filter fitted
Earthing strip/cable fitted
Turbo timer
Undersealed
New front discs and pads fitted approx 2months ago
4wheel lazer alignment


Bad points:
tappet noise when cold, but OK when warm, a common problem though.
body work has marks, rear door has trolleyy dings in it, corner of bonnet has a slight crease on the corner, but no rust visible.

owned it coming up on 4yrs now and it has never let me down. forgot to add, that when the rocker covers were off it was fitted with new platinum plugs and also new rocker seals as well as the spark plug seals.

i think so, i have priced it to try and get a quick sale, but as yet nothing. thought people would be messaging like mad seeing as it is a manual. fingers crossed.

Simon, I think you might be helped if you know when it was imported into the UK, and at what mileage (i.e. kms) the speedo was converted, as the odo will have run in miles since then. Then you can give an idea of the actual mileage covered!

i hope someone wants this car soon, i have just had the TAX thingy through the door, which although i am not going to re-tax it i don't want to have to declare it SORN either.

if it helps the speedo was converted to MPH at 137,800KM, so around 13,000 miles done since and it was imported into the UK in 2007. if you count the importers i am the 3rd owner.
really hope this helps people more.

Shame it hasn't got a moonroof or winter pack, either one of those and I would have been considering this as the replacement for my current car. At that price it's tempting to buy just to swap the parts into mine! Got to be a considersation for someone wanting a naual conversion.

I think it's that people just don't have the same amount of spare cash at the minute and with fuel prices going up all the time most are looking at better fuel economy.

I've had no interest in my manual VR4 either. I thought it was the rusty rear wheel arch, but now I'm sure it's petrol prices that are putting people off.

I've ben watching these appear on the forum for the past couple of months as I want to move to a manual but am not in a postion to do a gearbox swap. The prices are great but if I'm going to move to another VR4 I want it to have the specs I need. Niether of your cars has a moonroof or winter-pack otherwise you we would have already been discussing a deal.

Simon, this car defintiely offers great value for money and ticks most of the boxes, I would hold out a little longer if I were you. I keep coming back to it but I just can't justify the work just to go manual.

Lee, no problems pal, and thanks for the honest reply. just out of interest what is included in a Winter pack??

Also forgot to put in the original add this car also has a chrome/metal kick plate thing on the rear bumper, which i have been told are not a common extra and not many come up on the 2nd hand market.

Simon, the winter pack includes the heated mirrors, wiper area on the windscreen, uprated alternator and uprated battery. One of the other members may be able tot clarify if there are other changes. The plate you mention is indeed rare, I have one here that I was lucky enough to find but haven't fitted due to the bumper not being in the best condition. I had spotted that and wondered if you also have the stainless sill plates on the doors?

Having re-read my post where you quoted it I though I would quantify what I mean by work. Whatever I buy will get all the nice bits from my car which includes the boost controller, brakes, exhaust, bonnet, etc. It also includes the looms I fitted in the doors to retrofit the heated mirrors which was a real pain to do without breaking clips, etc. When you weigh it all up it's still easier to do a gearbox swap than to the others unless the other car gives me something more than the manual box.

You could try advertising to the European guys as I know many of them are looking for VR4s still and I bet a manual would be a popular choice.
