I spoke to a guy recently who was breaking an Evo V RS and he was asking £800 for his transfer box. It all depends on the seller really.

As far as I know they are a direct fit but I know that @Scanny and @Kryton both have one, so maybe they can shed a bit more light.

This is a rear diff I'm assuming so different to what we just got. Direct fit but have to swap part from standard rear diff to make it fit. Rear sayc go for between £250 & £400 normally depending on how many bidders & mileage. Well worth while upgrade though
Possibly the only VR4 that was driven by the current owner before being registered..... & it's a UK car

Alex, RS diff or transfer box is much expensive piece of kit than s-ayc.
S-ayc usually sell for 350 to 500 GBP, all depends on luck.

I have added it on Ebay # 321083920532 Bid for a Bargain Must Sell

It was removed from a Evo 9 with 46000 miles. Intended to fit on my VR4 but lost interest now, as I've sold the car and need the space I'm going to slowly sell all the spares I have.

I have fitted several SAYC diffs now. I'd agree with the prices above - £350 seems to be a common price point. It's not quite plug and play, but you only need 10mm spacers on the two rear lugs to make it plug and play. It changes the back of the car when pressing on, giving a slightly more rear bias when mashing the loud pedal in a corner, but it is also stronger than the stock diff.

i have been advised to skip the SAYC and stick with open or get a rear RS diff to avoid conflicts between LSD and AYC

And you need to swap the flange over that connects to the propshaft

I've got one and it does make a diference. To really appreciate it when tackling vicious corners you need a rear strut brace.
