Smile VR4 Front hubs from USA

just got my front hub bearings from the USA. Took 10 days and cost £179.90 for the pair.

Fitted yesterday (very easy) and no trouble at all with the fit.

    Very happy with them

    Got them from rockauto.com

IIRC, Eclipse, Talon, Sebring, 1995 - 2000, all those will fit.
    Ex: Galant VR4

    Now: Lancer Evolution 8 FQ-300

go to their website and do a search from the part number tab - 513157. This will bring up 2 results, you need the TimKen one which should be listed at the top.

Thats a great find Tim...cant argue with that price at all! Did the hubs not even put up a fight to stay in there? Did you escape import duty?

Actually, there is bit cheaper find (approx. 95 GBP for pair + duty and vat):
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/95-96-97-MITSU...item519443605a
    Seem that the same manufacturer.
Also hubs made by GMB are very popular in US (I got mine made by them).

Keith, one of the wheel bearings had started to get loose and it allowed the wheel to wobble slightly.

Derek - To remove the hubs you just take out the existing 4 bolts and put in two long ones and hit with a hammer. Its really quite easy as they are not a massively tight fit.

I didn't pay import duty only VAT and the PaecelFarce handling charge.

Mark, those rear hubs are not correct for the VR4. They look more line the V6 hubs.

Shame on that. Might be nice for V6/VR2 owners though.

That correct. Those hubs are for Galant n/a FWD.

Here you have rear wheel bearing for our vr4. Bear in mind those are not a complete hubs, see pictures.

the rockauto.com do the complete rear hubs, but you will have to search for them (maybe under evo, galant, ecilipse or talon) can't remember price.

    Bye for Now!

Eclipse AWD are good for the rear of the VR4. IIRC they also fit some Evos. Swinks has made a post about them in another thread.

The rear hubs linked to above are 5 studs, not 4, so FWD owners will only want them if they are fitting five stud hubs.

Hi, I got the timken bearings, complete hub, from Rockauto, took 4 days to get here, and got hit for £33 vat and handling fitted them yesterday, and all back up to speed.
One quick bit of info, The first side I did I took the whole hub carrier off and put it in the vice to change the hub. BUT the second side I didn't split any of the ball joints, I only took off the brake caliper and disc, remover the big hub nut, and managed to remove the 4 hub bearing carrier bolts and used a slide hammer to get the hub out, and I got the new one in with no probs, (a quick wire brush and clean before refitting the new one, all good. Nice find with the rockauto site,
