Vibration since lowering!! Anyone else experienced this.

So lowered my car a fairly substantial amount last weekend and since doing that i have picked up a vibration when accelerating between 20-50km/h as well as a clicking noise coming from the front end in time with the rotation of the wheels. I am thinking i have lowered it too much and the universal joints are now out of there working range causing the clicking and vibration.

Has anyone else experienced this problem when they have lowered their VR4 and if so how did you fix it?

Here is how low it is:

hiya matt yes i had the same problem , someone else on here had the same problem too,i think the only way to solve it is change the inner cv joints for new ones at £200 and odd pound each.

It does sound like your inner cv joints. Swap the green cups from one side to the other and see if that helps. It's a lot cheaper than new ones!

Righto, going to raise it a bit and see if that gets rid of the problem first. If it does im thinking im just going to leave it raised as its going to be stressing the UJ's anyway if its making these ones vibrate.

its not that low, the cvs are worn so thats the vibration,
and ones on the way out, thats why its clicking

raising it may help, but it doesn't change the fact your cv's are due for a change

also every time you change the height you really should have the alignment checked and adjusted

Yeah raising it made no difference. So i'm going to lower it again and now i've decided what height i want it its getting its wheel alignment.

And in reference to the CV's yes it does need new ones. Both boots are leaking which is never a good sign. I always associated the clicking when CV's go with turning though and mine is doing it as i just drive straight. The clicking is also one/possibly two clicks per rotation of the wheel which points away from CV's again which i would of thought would be 8 or 9 clicks per rotation. This is also a very faint click, nothing like the clunk/knock of CV's that are gone in my experience.

Where is a good place to get some new outer CV's and inner universal joints if i do choose to replace them.
