    Anti roll / sway bars

Does anyone know of anybody who makes uprated anti roll bars for the V6. Have searched high and low but only VR4 comes up. Thought about putting VRs on but not really sure I want the major surgery involved! Maybe Eclipse, but not sure if the under carriage was exactly the same. Any help appreciated.

so cusco?? they make under body sway bars and strut braces too i am sure.

One possible thing you could do is modify the standard ones and move the linkage mount further in on the standard anti roll bar. Leverage principle means that you will end up with a stiffer anti roll bar at the expense of increased work rate which could result in premature failure.

arent the v6 softer roll bars to the vr4 anyway? cant you just put a oe vr4 item in for an upgrade over stock n/a v6 ones i know the vr4 rear's are 22mm unsure about the front or the v6 ones

Ken, that's an interesting thought - may look at that.
Adam, yes that would be the answer but unfortunately the V6 / VR4 bars are not interchangeable - if only they were!!

I believe they mount on different points on the chassis and are a different length. I did look some time ago and I think it involves changing the subframes. I will recheck............

really thats quite odd i would have thought that the bars would be the same as they mount to the same points on the hub carriers. and i thought all the 4wd subframes were the same. im intrested to see the differences now

At first glance when looking in ASA they look identical. But... see yourselves:

The only difference I can see is the number below 41601 which is MR272712 & the other is MR272711? Whats that mean in relation to different applications?

I've checked the 'applicable models' charts in ASA. The V6 n/a is for all EAxx models where the VR4 one is for the ECxx model range.
In short: they shouldn't be interchangeable, just like Andy said. I was hoping for clear evidence they were very different (or not). So they're different but the exact 'how much' different question remains.

Hmmm interesting. Maybe just a generic exploded view or I am mistaken. The different part numbers could just be the rating (thickness) of the metal. But I'm sure when I once crawled under a VR to compare to mine they were completely different. Time for another crawl under a VR!! Wodj, where's your car?
Thanks for your inputs guys it all helps.

I think the rears are swappable, the fronts aren't though, the vr one goes up and over the transfer box.
