    Rubbing from back discs.

I fitted newish discs to the back of the car yesterday & going to the cinema today I noticed a rubbing sound coming from them.

Was thinking its the Hand break shoes that sit inside the discs & if I adjust them sightly it will be fine.

Has anyone else had this after changing rear discs & is this the way to sort it out?
The mighty Leedsnum has gone but the Airtrek mods will soon fill this space

Be my first guess (and easy enough to check).

Using the little inspection hole, wind the little toothed wheel in a couple of notches, on each side.

don't jump to there conclusion that there is a problem with the breaks, it could just be the dust plate at the back of the disk rubbing on the disk as you have disturbed/moved it when fitting the pads it is very easy to do and just need to bend it back out of the way.
it can somethimes only rub when cornering or something like that as things do flex, no matter how big and chunky they are.
worth a try fist before doing anything else!

That did cross my mined as well Dave & was going to try that first cause it was all right on the test drive after fitting yesterday but I never had the windows down. Had the drivers window down on way home from cinema when I noticed it.

Use the handbrake from about 20mph to slow down for a couple of junctions, if the rubbing stops, job done. If it doesn't, further investigation as previously mentioned.

I'll try that as well Graham.

This was the 1st time I have done the rear discs & never knew about releasing the adjusters for the hand break until I got the discs off & the new ones on so that's what leads me to the idea that the hand brake shoes are a bit tight on the new discs. They were a PITA to get of not knowing how to release the adjusters
