I have to say, if I was in the market for one at the moment, I'd be very tempted by one of these! My PLX does what I want it to though, so no need.

The info on the gauge seem to suggest that the sensor has 2 configuable outputs to wideband or narrow band. And a serial in and serial out.
So i could replaace the original o2 sensor have a wideband out put to the gauge and a narrow band output to the ECU then when i want to log with evoscan by just connecting the serial out to the laptop and log away. The serial in is for the fuel model selector and out put config.
Are my assumptions correct, if so then this is a all in one package that fits my need perfectly.
I know i have already said i will have one of these gauges, and i will. But there is no reason why i can not clarify the subject for anyone else that is in 2 minds weather or not to come in on the group buy and get one. I was not 100% sure it was what i wanted when i first said i would have one.
Bye for Now!
Dave, yes you are correct. As long as it is the same as an LC-1 but with an in-built gauge you have two bare wire outputs, both of which are configurable for voltage range, there is also a serial in and serial out 3.5mm jack and a 3.5mm -> RS232 connection cable. This can be used to directly connect to Logworks (Innovate) or Evoscan, with the ability to do calibration via Evoscan too. The serial in allows you to daisy-chain other Innovate devices but you have to put them in a certain order.
I have no complaints at all with the LC-1 fitted to my current car, I followed the guide that includes replacing the stock sensor and using an old connector to plug directly into the ECU like the OEM device. I think this is why I haven't had the issues others may have experienced. I'm buying this one for the RVR as it's a better price than a standard LC-1 that we were already looking to buy. I'm looking for another VR4 and I will certainly be looking to transfer the LC-1 to that too.

So is the RS-232 connection a 3.5mm jack to usb connector and not the old style 9 pin D-Type?
Or do you need to get an additional cable to convert the 9pin D-Type output to usb. Which isn't hard to get hold of. I am just trying to get it straight in my head how it will all work.
Cheers for all the info
I don't know on this model but on a normal LC-1 it's a 9 pin D-SUB. I use an older laptop dedicated to the car but I have a £3 converter that works fine with it on my daily use one.
Herro!
Okay, after reading through the manual here is a bit more information;

The cables you see highlighted in white is the main wiring loom and at least some of these will need wiring in for basic operation..
- Red - Switched +12V (ignition)
- Black - Ground
- White - Switched +12V (headlights)
- Yellow - Analog output #1
- Brown - Analog output #2
The connector you see highlighted in red is one of two identical connectors for serial communications, one for inbound (from other gauges), and one for outbound (to a computer).
The latter connects to a supplied adapter cable that converts it to DB9 RS232 (common serial connector), if your computer doesn't have a serial port (aka "COM1" or "COM2" on Windows, ttyS0 for Linux) you will need a USB to RS232 converter with a null modem cable (which you can find for cheap here).
The sensor highlighted in green is the wideband sensor and despite any urges that should arise, it should not be inserted in ones derrière, it doesn't measure those kind of gasses and improper use can damage the product
Also, forgot add this does indeed come with a metal bung if you wish to keep your narrowband o2 sensor for your stock ECU
Great news for me, I am currently on the market looking for wideband and looks like this kit is good for me as well, so could you put me on the deffo list please, I willing to pay for it via ppal

Sorry for the delay, having clutch problems on the RVR so Heidi's reticent to spend on other things right now. Should have persuaded her by the end of the week.
Cool, anyone else interested? I've pushed the retailer for an answer on if we'll get a further discount for 10 or more purchases
Can I ask for PM with payment details.
Has anyone thought about where they're going to mount this? From the video it appears to require quite a deep hole as the thick wiring probably won't bend too easily. The gauge surround (that will sit proud of the mounting hole) seems quite deep too so it won't be as flush a finish as most 'normal' gauges. Great for mounting in a hole cut out of the dash or the stereo area but I don't think it would be ideal for gauge pods or A-pillars for example where the wiring may need to bend out of the way of other stuff. It looks like it will need to be quite securely mounted within a thickish panel for best aesthetic results.
I'm not knocking the product (as I am seriously considering one for my other car) and I haven't looked into my own mounting options yet: just wondered if anyone else had thought about where they're going to put it.

Growling out 349ft/lb torque, 296 fly HP @ 0.9 bar
It's true they're pretty deep units but they're not as deep as some (Autogauge for example).
If you have a Triple Din Gauge Holder it would fit this no problem and other mounting solutions can be made.
There is the alternative of just keeping it stored in the glovebox too, even at £135 it's still a bargain for a reliable wideband AFR system
