Don't you get a PC cable with it? Seems a bit unusual these days if you don't.

Alan, you get a RS232 serial cable with it, but as you know most computers don't have them these days so you have to buy a USB to Serial adapter.

Just so people know, you don't need to plug it into a computer to use it, the brown wire is preset as narrowband, even calibration can be done without using the serial cable!

For those intent on tuning cruise AFR with it I highly recommend you look for a serial adapter with FTDI chipsets, they're cheap, reliable and have 32 and 64-bit drivers (right click -> save as) available for them.

    Here are some links to products on ebay that have the chipset;

Those are the obvious ones, I've found that roughly half of the adapters these days use the FTDI chipset anyway. They also work well on Macs and Linux.

I'm currently negotiating with a couple of people to arrange a workshop day for fitting these gauges and prep for JapFest 2, naturally when we do so I'll offer to reprogram the gauges for leaner cruise.

One of the issues I encountered (very minor though) was getting the new o2 sensor sthrough the grommet on the floor pan. I ended up cutting through the grommet, then using a couple of small zip-ties, closing the grommet back up over the wires. Also, you need to make the hole wider by about 1mm, maybe even less. I used a Dremel to sand down one side making the hole just big enough for the o2 sensor to pass through.

    Re: RS232 cable
I thought I remembered somewhere that PC connectivity was built into the kit. I've got a serial/USB converter cable that I use with the MAP2 & Nissan Consult so I, selfishly, totally disregarded the requirement for this when I was suggesting fiddling with the AFR. Sorry dudes.
It's surprising how many manufacturers of automotive equipment still use serial connectors for PC usage.

I have a spare laptop with an RS232 port on it that can sit in the car all day long. The only improvement would be an in-car PC that would mean I can leave it permanently connected.
Tried Evoscan 2.8 yesterday but that seems to have issues with our ECU. Did manage to re-calibrate the LC-1 though.

The white wire, when connected to your sidelights switch (+12V), will dim the MTX-L display when the lights are turned on.

Anyone else interested in some more of these gauges? Already had one or two people ask me if I can get some more, if demand is high enough I'll organise another group buy.

Just a question/idea on fitment for those that have installed this. Does the manual recommend fitting a fuse on the power feed. I know some have taken power from the stereo but it could still be worth checking the wiring to make sure the wideband is fused should it be recommended. Often stereos are fused at the unit so the wideband wouldn't be protected from using this power feed. An inline fuse is nothing compared to the cost of the wb controller and it's easy to forget in the excitement of getting a new toy working.

Reading through the instructions that Alan has post in post 96 for installing the innovate on its own is it the yellow or brown wire that you connect to the blue wire on the connector off the old sensor?
The mighty Leedsnum has gone but the Airtrek mods will soon fill this space

The yellow wire by default is wideband - this is used for loggers etc.
The brown wire by default is narrowband - this is the one you want to connect to the ECU.

Its been a while since everybody has installed his MTX-L

What afr numbers are you guys running at this moment?

Mine: While stationary or cruising around 14.0-14.8
    Under boost driving 9.0-9.8

I don't have my MTX-L conntected to the ecu so im still running seperated 02 and wideband. (im thinking of conntecting it, so i can lower my fuelpressure to get more to an afr of 11)
    I'm from The Netherlands,
    Sorry for my language
