    FS: Club VR4 2005 Calendar

Thats right ! There is going to be a Club VR4 2005 Calendar :-b

The calendar will be A3 (297mm x 420mm) size and will feature a picture of a full member's car on each month of the year. The full members will be voting on which cars make the calendar in the next few weeks....so yet another reason to join up if you want to get your car in with a chance

Anyhow, there is an example below of the layout of the calendar and these will be on sale at £14.99 (£15.99 if paying by Paypal) as long as we get 50 orders - if not they will be £17.99 (£18.99 by Paypal).

Please post here if you would like to order one of these - there will be a deadline for orders sometime around the 20th of November to ensure delivery by Xmas.

    Pete,

A couple of points come to mind.

1] I am guessing that the printers want a fairly large resolution photo to work with .... 240 dpi +. Otherwise they may look cra*.

2] Given the above, members may need to take new high res photos and send them to you?

3] Could I suggest that if you (or members) send me a copy of the photo they want to put forward I could do a (Photoshop) montage of a load of cars for one or two of the months. This will allow more members cars to be featured otherwise it will just be 12.

    In reply:

1: Yes the higher the resolution the better - one would hope that the members votes will consider the quality of the images/location/artistic flare rather than the persons list of mods etc - considering this is a calendar and should be pleasing to the eye

2: I hope they do, it would probably be in their best interest to have pics people may not have seen before ?

3: Sounds a good idea - maybe this could be penciled in for December's photo

Surely there must be more interest than this for such a work of art ?

Had a similar problem selling a calendar this year at the swimming club. Seemed like a good idea at the time...............

    Hunks in Trunks

but after personally buying a colour laser printer and printing 100+ copies very few were actually sold.

Wanadoo are offering custom calendars for £15 at the moment, then you can have whatever photos you want. Perhaps we should get a huge repository of photos and let people choose their own???? I know its a bit more effort, but you may get more interest if people can gaurantee their car will be featured!

It is a shame and I take your point Dave. Would be a shame if we had to go down that route though as people may as well just make their own calendars online and then they are not a Club item. I agree it would be nice to guarantee your own car would be in it but thats not feesible hence why I thought the voting system was the fairest way.

Let the people decide..........wanna make your own calendars - no skin off my nose so to speak and don't mind either way (less work for me :-b )

would it cost more to have 2 car's on each month's picture? then maybe ther's more of a chance of getting most member's car's on it.

Does it really matter who's car is in it as long as it's a good pic. OK I'd like mine to be there but if it's not then what the hell? Still a nice calender (with all sorts of Galants/Legnums), still useful and SUPPORTS YOUR CLUB. Come on get your names down !!

    Here, here! My thoughts precisely.

How many takers did we need for this, Pete? If we're struggling to fill one last berth then I'd be more than happy with two of them.....my brother is a fan of VR4's too, so I can always buy one for him.

And we're not even going to enter any photos of our car

Oh yeah, we'll have two, as well :-D
