    Newbie from Northampton

Just joined and wanted to say hi to everyone. I bought a Legnum after falling in love with them when my son took me to Santa Pod in his! I never knew an estate car could have so much power!
I have a question and not sure if I post it here as I havent had time to scour the site yet, but here goes-
I have a 1997 Legnum VR-4 and was wondering if it is possible to tow a caravan with this? Has anyone on here ever towed a caravan with one? If so where can I get a tow bar fitted?
Sorry, I know thats 3 questions, and like I said, not sure if this is the place to post these, but hey, bear with me, I'm new!!
    Any replies,comments, abuse, greatly appreciated!

    Hi Ian

I assume by your location your Rikki's dad , yeah the vr4 will tow a caravan but I would suggest you fit a gearbox cooler as towing can raise the temps on the ATF (Amsoil ATF also helps a lot )

As your not that far from me I can fit a tow bar and electrics at my Unit in Tring ( I also do servicing , and most other things to VR4's as well - and have a selection of pre used parts available )

Have fun in the mad House

Hi and welcome to CVR4 Ian.

Depending on the size of the Van your towing, the legnum is an fantastic tow car, we recently completed a 11,000km trip towing a 1350kg camper trailer, occasionally we use the legnum to move our large van around for cleaning or access to rear of the shed, which it also handles with ease (though we don't use the the legnum to tow this one on the road - way past the rating on the tow bar) !

As the guys have said a transmission cooler is an absolute must have item for your car.

    to CVR4!

There isn't an EXACT towbar available for the Legnum VR-4. However, the model required is a Witter CL73 as manufactured for the Galant Estate. It's just that one of the chassis leg sections on the tow bar assembly requires a couple of notches to clear the AYC pump mounting. This can be achieved using a bench grinder, angle grinder, or someone else doing it for you!
