Changing 4 stud hubs to 5 stud on V6 sport?

Is it possible to change 4 stud hubs to 5 stud hubs on a 2000 (W-REG) V6 sport please?

I'm pretty sure you just need fwd eclipse hubs. Should be cheap enough from yank land, got to be worth a go?

why cant you just use the existing hub carriers and swap the hubs/wheel bearings? im using V6 hub carriers on the VR4 with no complications so why wouldnt they fit on a V6?

Think its because of the rear hubs having a hole for the driveshafts

does that matter? i know there is no diff on the V6 but it still has a rear axle so there must be something between the 2 rear wheels that attach to the hubs

Yeah, tis quite different. The v6 hub will be solid.
on the vr4, the shaft keeps the bearing centered, with out it, it causes premature/odd wear, potentially dangerous.

Edit: there is no rear axle on the v6, an arrangement of arms keep the hub where it needs to be.

i will need to think of something, or rather get someone else to experiment. its hard enough buying alloys that clear the brembos on a VR4. getting a set to clear them on a V6 must be nigh on impossible. i know the front end is ok but i have a spare VR4 rear hub carrier and the whole rear end of a V6 to play with. just need an offside rear hub from a VR4 to play with now. someone must have an old one lying around

that means buying more parts which i really dont want to do. i already have a shed full of parts, a car to scrap which is full of tools and parts, now i am about to have another car to strip for parts

im assuming stock V6 alloys dont clear brembos? im also assuming the brembos are a straight fit apart from drilling the discs

    pretty sure they're correct assumptions!
i really wouldn't give up on the legnum just yet mate. i broke the first one i had myself (so no labour costs) granted i still have the engine from it, but haven't quite made my money back yet and doubt i would have made as much as i had if it wasn't for the screens/ps3/headunit being in there

i know from a bad experience that V6 front hub carriers fit a VR4 and brembos fit them. PFL VR4 brakes dont fit them though and V6 brakes with drilled discs fit a VR4 although i wouldnt recommend them as they are not up to the job

there is a garage that isnt too far from me who have a good reputation. they work on high performance cars all the time and knew exactly what to put in the front diff when i phoned them to ask for advice. i might let them take a look at the car and see what they say but i dont hold much hope with it being an intermittant fault. it might be good news ie suspension but it could just as easily be a diff or gearbox problem which would be expensive. whatever it is i am currently stuck with a car caused me to abandon a shopping trip yesterday because i was too scared to drive it. i have had cars with faults before but not to this extent and it doesnt help with it being the time of year when everything is shut and post takes forever
