Any progress?
On another note, I remember you were looking for an uprated V6 sway bar (couldn't find the right topic though, sorry). By accident, I stumbled on this. Anyone any ideas?
Addco #2149 – 99-02 Galant Rear 7/8” Sway Bar $235
http://www.importcarpartsplus.com/galantsuspension.htm
It's clearly a USDM focussed product, but I have no idea if there's a difference in the sway bars between the euro/JDM and USDM N/A cars.
Hi Mark
Yes the LSD is fitted and the car runs fine. Not had a chance to really try it out. Sometimes I think it is more sure footed round corners if you push it, but I find I can still punch through it quite easily and make the wheel spin!! Perhaps not quite so much though to be fair. I really need to do a track day somewhere so I can properly judge. As for the sway bar, you have found the only one I can currently find also. As you know I spend a fair amount of time on USDM sites, and this bar gets a fairly good review although some do report clearance issues. The rear suspension set up on the USDM Galant does "appear" to be the same as ours, of course the front is very different. I will probably be taking a chance on the Addco bar, will be ordering maybe next week. I'll let you know if there are any issues.
Keep us in touch about both upgrades

No real updates I'm afraid. The car has been hibernating since its initial run with the LSD. I do have the sway bar, but not got anywhere near the car with it as I've not really had time and it's too cold for me out there!. I will of course update things when I get round to some more work on the car. The sway bar itself does look like a nicely made bit of kit and is very much thicker than the one that's on there. Don't forget though, this is for a FWD car at the rear - so may be of no value to an AWD.
Hey Andy,
How is your LSD going? Did you have a chance to give it a good try for testing?
The upgrade was worth it?
Where is the promised thread for LSD on FWD? O
Same as the post above yours! Car has not been out this year yet and is unlikely to be doing much before October when it will make it's pilgrimage to that lovely little village in Germany. Of course should it come out for an early run I will update any findings. TBH the real test of the LSD was always going to be the Ring, just that an earlier trip wasn't made this year.
ok i thought you might tried how the launching go's by now (if you have less wheelspin in 1st 2nd and sometimes 3th)
We'll have to wait then
Yep I will report on it once it's up and running again. The LSD only made one trip and that was mainly normal road driving. The only thing I can say is that I can get the wheels still to spin but perhaps a little less. However, it did feel a little more sure footed on one or two higher speed corners. Not enough on road though to give a fair write up at the moment.
Never did update this, well not here anyway!
Combination of the LSD and rear uprated ARB is quite marked. Where the car used to understeer quite excessively if pushed, it is now quite the opposite! Certainly traction is improved with the LSD but coupled with the ARB it appears quite tail happy. Needed to get used to it and adjust some settings at the back to calm it down a little. It is better, glad I did it, but no warning at all when it's about to let go!

Isn't that the wrong way around mate.......used to understeer and now oversteers ?
