    Man with a van wanted

    Hi guys,

I require the use of a large-ish van for a weekend in September, maybe the weekend 17/18.
I am moving house and need to move some large items, and would like to do one trip rather than about 7 or 8 in the Legnum.
Main items in question are washing machine, fridge, freezer, wardrobe, along with a load of boxes and bags. I can probably do the move all in the Legnum, but as I said, its easier to just do one load. It is 7.5 miles from location to location so its not that far either.

If anyone has a van or knows someone I can borrow a van from for the day, it would be much appreciated.

Additionally, I may also require a van for the same weekend for a trip from Manchester back to Birmingham to collect two sofas (one 3 seater and one 2 seater). If anyone can help please let me know.

All dates above are quite flexible as long as they get done in Sept. My current rental agreement ends on 30 Sep.

If you can do it during the week Atik, then I can recommend Thrifty if there is one near you ? We hired a Transit from them a couple of weeks ago for just £37.95 from 12 noon on a Thurs to 12 noon on a Friday

    B+Q have Transits for £15/hour - may need to buy a packet of screws . . .
    Cheers,

Thanks for the heads up guys.

That Thrifty looks like a good deal. Throw in £20 of diesel and that will do the job, well at least the local journey.

hiring a van isnt expensive. when i moved from southampton to stirling i hired one for the weekend and it only cost me £60. just check for a mileage restriction as a lot of them limit you to 200 miles then charge 10p per mile which can add up

I see there are 3 branches listed in Birmingham mate, and just did a quote for next Tuesday as an example and it was £36 for a SWB Transit ! Unlimited mileage too IIRC. The only extra may be if you want to reduce the insurance excess. It was £750 normally, but can reduce to £250 for about £13 I think (I didn't bother).
