    6a12tt Parts VS 6a13tt Parts

    hey guys

does anyone know if the intake manifold off a 6a12 quadcam will fit the 6a13tt or what other parts maybe transferrable, we are wanting to mount the throttle body on the 6a13tt on the drivers side and we are hoping the 6a12 manifold will solve this so we dont have to cut and weld

no there shaped (the tubes) completely different, round on the 6a12, vs a square with corners rounded off on the 6a13

if you intake manifold is like mine cast in two pieces just copy the same design as me.you shouldnt have to cut anything. its all worth it in the end.

OR... you can try the factory one fitted backwards.. i think a 5-10mm spacer plate is needed for the plenum to clear the front rocker covers. and maybe cut the bonnet?

Short answer no, the 6A12TT intake is too short to fit over the 6A13TT heads and you wouldn't want to use one anyway as they have a butterfly switch in them which you'll have to remove.

I have my 6A13TT one coming out the other side =D

Also Illegal: the 6A13TT plenum is one piece not like our 6A12 ones being 2 piece.

I think what Richard is showing above is two seperate parts, the inlet manifold and the TANK,ENG AIR INTAKE SURGE(or intake plenum). The plenum is the bit that he has changed to the new one, keeping the factory manifold...

Oh.... *has closer look* yep I see it now. I thought he had used part of the stock plenum and added that on instead.

why would you want to shorten the runners that much? Shorter runners increase the peak rpm torque point, have you done any calculations on those runner lengths? That may just ruin the characteristics of the engine

i had no measurements for my plenum.. plan was t just get it working.. with drag racing in mind at the time, my logic behind it was that my turbo is massive and its powerband will be in the higher rpm (5000 - 7200) so the short runners will maximise the peak hp and seeing as theres no lag when dailing 7000rpm launches and flat shifting there was no need for any midrange or lower.very happy with the results. its also good for on the street because in order for me to speed i would have to really speed because theres NO power under 4600rpm so its never really on boost and this seemed to save alot of gas compared to the td05, that was full song by 3600 - 4000
