I suspect it's either the estonians or the russians. Both steal cars from finland to theit own countries. Someone could have read about the car from mitsubishiclubfinland or even here. Bloody hell. Im not being racist but thats a fact here in Finland. Finnish car thieves are drunken idiots that steal 200$ cars for little rides.....These kind of special cars go abroad.

Yes I contacted the police straight away, there was 1/4 tank in the car so range would be under 200 km. Have to ask if a petrol station near has a camera that sees the road to the house, if they have we could find out when it was stolen. I too believe that it was a "order" job and it is probably already ousite of Finland already with the morning ferries before it was noticed that is was stolen

It had to be done on "a special request". Those cars are so unique and such a small community across Europe. Will do post this as well in PL forum (unfortunatelly there is still big market for nicked cars).

Just posted an alert topic on our dutch galantfans forum too asking people to keep their eyes and ears open!

I have to admit that it suddenly feels bad in some weird way that I am planning and in process of doing a very similar 2x TD04 conversion on a spare VR4 engine... just last week I bought the faulty engine from Stefan (crazydriver81) which I'll try to expand to 2.8xL engine and do a complete makeover.

I was and am very much inspired by your work Anders! That car MUST be found and returned!!!

Will watch out for the car in Tallinn, i only ever saw 1 vr4 here and it was a legnum!

That's a nightmare. Can you get any info from ferry companies to keep an eye out, particularly the one you are closest to? Having been with Finnish drivers i can say it would not be them. The ones i was with seemed more interested in thrashing basic cars on dirt roads trying to show their skills.

I have tried contacting the ferry companies and customs at the russian border, but they only cooperate with the authorities. Have sent info and pictures to the police and hope that they handle the case.
I got a call yesterday, a car that looked like mine had been sighted about 100 km from where it was stolen, so could be it it still in the country

Fingers crossed, it might work out. A long shot but can you put an advert and a large pic in a regional / national newspaper saying its stolen?

Police have seen the car yesterday, just read that from the newspaper. They tried to investigate it but it reversed into the police car and after that tried to run over the police. After that they collided with 3 parked cars when driving away from the police, the police could not keep up with my car so they lost sight of it

I wont get the car back in one piece but lets hope they catch the bastards
