my ex has had 3 separate types of cancer this year and she has just been cleared AGAIN so its not all bad news. cancer patients have a better than ever chance of beating it these days so stay positive and listen to the advice you are given. macmillan have been great for her so i would strongly recommend talking to them if you havent already

Cheers Richie, i have used Macmillan we are lucky here they have a drop in centre within the hospital and they are good to talk too every now and then, its just a shame i cant get a few friends to do the same and talk to macmillan. It really affected my best m8 a while back to the point where he broke down naturally it make me feel crap but we are stronger than ever now and i refuse to let this cancer win.
As Promised the results from todays appointment, I am due a CT scan in the next 2 weeks then i shall start Radiotherapy in the new year so it means i can enjoy myself a little over the festive period aside from that im stressed out cos a financial advisor took a loan out in my name 4 days ago and trashed my credit rating. so he's gonna get it in the bloody neck in a bit.
My Brother has said the same thing as i gave NO permission to set up an account etc but its all been cancelled now so im content enough, if it wasnt for the cancer i would be speaking to my bank and a solicitor on the matter but i dont need the added stress my credit rating will recover quickly as i have no loans or credit cards but do have the all important phone contract etc that soon boosts a credit rating. the financial advisor didnt even apologise, just said im the second person who has called today about it and he will remove my details from his system. then again i did start the conversation with "what the F**k do you think you are playing at!"
So sorry to hear about this, everyone has an idea of how they would cope but in reality you can't even begin to imagine what it's like or how you'll cope and all I can say is good on ya for staying positive, I've had a lot of health issues over the last few years and there are things that they have recommended me not do and I keep being told to eat more healthily, but I'd much rather go out young pushing myself doing something I enjoy than living a boring and secluded life that I'm not happy with. Either way my heart goes out to ya, you've had a rough couple of years, but now you've got your VR-4, thing's are looking up! lol
I guess there are more important things in life than greasy little snakes like him to worry about. Sometimes it's enough just to f**k someones day up in return for their crappy behaviour.
they get commission for referring people to that loan company so im glad i kicked off cos he's not getting the commission for that one now!
seemed fair he f**ked my credit rating up
A very good friend of mine had a similar problem about 15 years ago, secondaries everywhere, lungs liver neck even in his brain. He had many courses of chemo and radiotherapy and operations, even having bone marrow removal, a high dose of whole body radiotherapy, then reimplantation of the bone marrow. He was very very sick at times, many setbacks, and felt he would given up if it hadn't been for his family. He never did give up, and is still clear now. Sure he has some residual effects from the treatment, but he is alive and relishing life.
It will be hard, but try and keep positive even at the bad times. Do look forward to being cured, even if the odds look bad now.
Your attitude is great, and yes, it is difficult for your friends and relatives to help, it may seem odd, but their fear for you makes it difficult.
I am sure everybody on the forum is also rooting for you.
MacMillan help keep your sanity, they are brilliant.
I would have suggested joining a group meet. I wonder how many live round Plymouth / South West?
Thanks Ian
For the car or cancer?? LOL i know of 3 VR4's around the plymouth area although one is for sale atm i do meet up with a lot of car "enthusiasts" (boy racers) when im well enough as the majority are a good bunch of people its the few that ruin it. roll on the South West Truro Cruise
Bit of both really. It's nice to socialise, show off the car, swap info. Takes the mind off things....
i have a couple friends 1 i know from old and 1 who i met thru the cancer that i talk to frequently, but yea the car shows/meets are a good distraction and does help keep me sane. roll on 2012 and the show season
Not what i wanted to post but just had a phone call from my consultant, my Tumour Markers have risen from 11 to 45 not all doom and gloom i have a CT scan next thursday and will find out from there what happens next, as ever will keep you informed of my progress.
