From the little I spoke with him on these pages, Paul came across as a genuine person with a love of life. That makes the loss of his life even more upsetting. I hope his loved ones are helping each other to stay strong - if any of his family read this and would like the club to help in any way, then please let us know.

My thoughts go out to family and friends.

There's nothing really more I can add which hasn't already been said.

I'm so so sad at hearing the sad outcome of Pauls fight against testicular cancer.
I've been following this post since it started and I figured the outcome would be totally different than what we're all reading now.
Many times I wanted to comment and offer words of support to Paul, but being from an older generation where (regretably) such topics were not easily discussed or were discussed by men at all for that matter.
April fools day 1974 in perth Australia, I was operated on for TC and spent the next 2 years undergoing 5 operations and endless rounds of chemo.
Like Tims post earlier, mine was merely a teratoma, which is, I learned much later a benign tumour.
The chemo (or deep xray) I underwent at the time did a huge amount of damage, which resulted in the removal of my left kidney, 2 sections of my lower bowel and a temporary colostomy for 18 months. Each time they operated they expected to find the cancer had spread, but thankfully it was not so.
I know I should have Pm'd Paul with words of comfort, but as I said earlier, being from a post WW2 generation, where men didn't discuss such matters, and I honestly believed the outcome would have been much the same as mine.
To Pauls family I'd like to offer my deepest sympathy on their loss.
old age and treachery will outdo youth and skill anyday

His CVR4 tenure was not long, as he only joined in November 2011, but in that short time, Paul was hugely enthusiastic about cars and keen to learn more about VR-4s. Hopefully, we can all take something away from the way he told his whole story, and just maybe a few future tragedies may be averted by the insightful information that was shared with us, that often is kept private.

    RIP Paul.

Never argue with a fool – they will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience!

I've been a victim of TC, and luckily survived, but this is terribly sad news. My sincere condolences to James and the rest of Paul's family...
