Keeper springs + Galant suspension into legnum?

What are keeper springs and can you drive without them? Are there any issues using galant adjustables in a legnum?

yes... the rear spring rate may be to soft in the rear (may sag or sit to low, and not capable of raising the car high enough in the rear)

keeper springs keep the main spring captive, in the case where the strut at full extension is longer than the main spring and can come out of its seat

they are damper adjustable if that makes any difference. any idea how much keeper springs cost, just need them for the rear.

call someone like autolign for keepers, you will also need the seating ring that sites between the keeper and main spring if you dont have them.

adj damper makes no difference, if the spring rates are wrong. it will sag/sit low, handle badly.

if the springs are to soft and you compensate by firming up the damper, you run the risk of ruining the damper(seals can blow), or pushing the strut though the strut tower bushing. (these are worst case scenarios)

    buy the correct springs!

im sure Kenneth will agree with me if he reads this thread

These ones here are probably the best ones:

Too bad the seller has no idea what model they are, only want HA's or the other new damper model

    Yep, I agree with you

Keeper springs are not always necessary, you really only need them if the static sag is very small. (8kg rear on a Galant wants keeper springs but had no trouble with a Legnum)

Not sure if there is anyway to tell the difference visually between models of teins. I dont know how anyone can lower an 8g, the bit of my exhaust that bends around the diff is already almost on the ground

No, no keeper springs. I wouldn't mind some for the rear though. At 8kg there isn't a lot of static sag so it doesn't take much to significantly unload one of the rear wheels. I didn't find the issue so noticeable in a Legnum.

    What are the spring rates?
