Why would you need to? It only operates at below a given speed (say 8 mph) and when your foot is flat to the floor. If you're stationary with your right foot slammed, then it would be a reasonable assumption that you'd want it enabled
Believed to be the only PFL Legnum parked on my drive unless you know otherwise.

yeah thats true.....i assume this requires a reed switch on the clutch pedal i guess you could put a switch in there to dissable it in any case.....
anyway now we can have switchable maps i want one!

hold up......it would also mean that NLTS was enabled all the time also tho and you dont really want that full time

You don't need a clutch switch for anti-lag / launch control but it helps, you do need one for NLTS though.

You can turn the features off with a switch if you desire.

The overrun anti-lag doesn't really work that well, I need to research it more but I doubt it'd be useful without a throttle kicker.

Just so we're clear, overrun anti-lag is pops / bangs when the vehicle is moving and your foot is off the accelerator is an experiment I tried to implement with switchable maps, it's a partial success in the fact it turns overrun burble to a few pops / bangs (nothing like a purebred rally car though) but doesn't build any boost.

The problem is twofold, firstly the ECU turns off the injectors on overrun to save fuel, this can be fudged by adjusting one of the tables in the ROM, however it's intermittent and doesn't always fuel. Secondly, and more crucially, because your foot is off the accelerator and the throttle is fully closed, there's not enough airflow to build any boost. This is what I meant by a throttle kicker, it keeps the throttle slightly open to allow a bit of boost. Problem is, they're expensive.

Stationary anti-lag, as you've seen in the videos, definitely works

Just for info Jase, I have a 7203 ECU, and a facelift autobox ECU.

I have the flashing TCL OFF light (although I can 'turn off' the TCL (i.e. light is illuminated solidly)). Has all been reset also.

Interestingly, it appears that the ASC is still working though.

How about traction control though? Still functional with flashing light? I doubt it is but curious.

fcd - Not sure what this means... fuel cut defender? If so, this can be adjusted or removed no problem
bcd - boost cut defender? Same as the previous
cel on knock - No problem
overrun antilag - So long as you realise this won't be true overrun antilag and is pure vanity

It may take some creativity but I think most of that can be implemented.

Just so you know though, this ECU is possibly about to be sold, in negotiations with someone right now, if that does happen I have *my* personal H8/539 ECU (will also run switchable maps) but I'd require your old ECU as part of the deal

i understand the boost level no prob NJs ecu is the same somtimes hits 1.2 bar somtimes 1.4 bar
yeah i was talking about fuel cut and boost cut need moving out the way
i understand overun antilang is purely to put a smile on my face
NLTS ok i can do without that

that so basicly 2 maps will be the same apart form the launch control and then a comfort. i think someone asked before but if i need it leans out abit after install i can send it back for you to tweek? for a fee of course

and lastly i wanna keep my NJ ecu so i have a spare and to fit if i send the new one back to you for tweeks. so i will of course pay extra for you to get a replacement. or if you point me in the right direction i will get one off ebay to replace?

Technically 2 modes of apparent operation, but in fact those features will probably use up most of the 8 switchable configurations, definitely so if you want valet mode too. Just so you're aware there'd be no room for expansion

Of course, I can do that if required.

Unfortunately they're not so easily come by on eBay, not the right ones anyway. Usually it's either a V6 Sport or a 7201 that comes up. If you can source a genuine VR-4 H8/539, 7202 or 7203 ECU you can post it to me and I can install the mods.

I can't just sell my ECU without a replacement anyway, I need my car to get to work

Yeah, those were auto gearbox and traction control ECUs respectively.

    I've got a close eye on eBay for 7202 / 7203 ECUs

Ok fair enough about the valet mode not worried about that,
Will have to try source one, if anyone's selling one or they come up on eBay lemme know. Do we know part no.s?

    Okay, tips for finding them are as follows;

    • Search for keywords such as VR-4, VR4, EC5A, EC5W, Legnum
    • Look for black plastic ECUs with 4 connectors
    • Look for part numbers MD340288 or MD340289 (manual and auto respectively)
    • As soon as you've found one, ask for a photo of the PCB, you need to get both the number on the chip (highlighted) and the PCB number on the right

    Example photo with ECU and model number highlighted;
