Hi All,whats the best engine oil for a 2001 galant v6 non turbo.
Best? I would go for Amsoil's 5w-30.
Although I believe Mitsubishi only specify a minimum of a semi-synthetic oil (would have to check that point to be sure), I would still opt for a proper fully-synthetic oil. Although there are no turbos to accelerate the process of breaking down oil, a proper synthetic will still resist the process for a LOT longer than semi-synthetic / mineral oils. Castrol EDGE, Titan (Fuchs) are other options - there are obviously lots more available!

I think Mitsy specify smei-synth 5W40 for the non turbo V6. I'd go with what Nev said though!

A lot will depend on your driving conditions and engine state.
I usually go for a fully synthetic oil - perhaps overkill in a N/A engine. Currently I am using a 0W-20. No tappet rattle - hot or cold.
