Unfortunately Mike, that didn't help when his last car got stripped - the leather interior appeared on TradeMe and I don't think the police ever did anything to recover it, or were too slow.

Realistically, there are not many parts that are absolutely unique to Supers anyway. My previous car's interior as well as my rear strut brace - of which there were less than five in the country, all featured on TardMe.
Even when something features on the site, one can't necessarily prove that it came from their car.
yup i like e39's.. very very cool.
Gutted for you Ryan. Hope everything gets sorted for you.
The mighty Leedsnum has gone but the Airtrek mods will soon fill this space

Thats a real bummer Ryan,as prev said, the valet comp bear responsibility for the care of the car whilst in their possesion, threaten to sue and see what their response is
Well there isn't much point getting excited with the hotel because it clearly states on the parking ticket that they "accept no responsibility", blah blah blah. They have been really good to me so far, short of getting my car back they have pretty much bent over backwards to assist.
Insurance company said that it would take two weeks to see if the car turns up, if not then they'd write it off as unrecoverable. My dealings with them so far have been good, just hope that they don't make the claim process too drawn out.
Oh and Dan - they still have the key, it is being couriered up to me... I forgot to take it in my haste to leave.
WTF thats so disappointing to hear, thieving scum like that should be castrated! Fingers crossed it turns up all in one piece.

So was there no CCTV footage in the area were it was stolen? Most of the hotels I have stayed at in auckland city have had visible cameras.

Yes there will be footage but obviously they need to spend some time reviewing it because we don't know specifically when it was stolen as I was there for a few days. That said though I've just put a deposit down on a 540i Motorsport and will be taking a look at it on Wednesday.

pics? link??
dont think its premature??? whats your insurance said?
Not really, regardless of what happens with insurance (and I see no reason why they shouldn't pay out), I am over VR-4's.
if its recovered, you may get a fixed car rather than a pay out.
Then it will be sold. (You have a PM).
Very nice beamer. 8 airbags? thats a bit of a overkill isn't it? lol
i would think underkill, if you know what i mean
Slightly off topic here, sorry.
When this kind of thing happens, is it possible to have a photo of the stolen car and some info on when where etc, and any identifying features, parts etc on the home page, or banner, so that people visiting the site, (who are potentially looking to buy cars or parts!) see that a car has been stolen and more people are aware, just a thought.
