    Getting fuel tank out?

Does the tank come out on a vr4 without anything of the back axle being removed please?

As I've undone the 3 forward facing 14mm bolts & removed the fuel lines with the electrics.

So is there anything at the rear that has to be undone, disconnected Etc?

I believe the best way (although not the tidiest) of removing this is to undo the fuel cap & lower down the fuel neck, a depth charge. Far quicker than messing around removing bolts, but can't guarantee you will be able to reuse the part afterwards
Possibly the only VR4 that was driven by the current owner before being registered..... & it's a UK car

I have only removed one from a Breaker, Steve, and can't remember. I'm sure the prop shaft would need to move.

Thanks bud, I too have broken one & in the process of finishing of another one. I cant remember either?

There's nothing underneath apart from the ayc which is still connected to the rear axle casing, so once that's out the way then I will see what's holding it up still.

I seem to remember two straps looping round the tank bolted to the floor of the car. But don't quote me - that might be a different car!!

I would think that you would need to remove the rear subframe to get it out? Or at least lowering it!

OK I have now got the rear sub frame out & yep you will need to remove it to get the tank out as there is 3 14mm nuts at the front & the same at the back

Unless you can get to the 14mm nuts at the rear without the sub frame coming out I couldn't clearly see.

You don't need to undo those 3 nuts at the back. Only undo the front ones, lower the straps and slide the tank down forward...
