all good, no hurry yet as my parts havent arrived yet,
Yep, I'm in definitely
Sweet have emailed weir. They gave me shipping for one kit about 40usd. Waiting on reply for multiple kits and payment options
cool well ill be keeping an eye on this thread for the final price and I will txt carl (patron999) and see if he is keen possibly scott will need one when he enevidbly blows up his ayc once his manual conversion is complete.
I'd still need to track down a stock evo LSD though, right? This is just replacement uprated plates?
yip this is just the plates you will still need the lsd cartrage itself. possibly worth giving evo parts a ring and asking if hes got one with worn plates?
And I'll need an open diff case.. someone took the one I had
ok, can get upto 5 kits shipped with insurance for $60.75usd
but.... been reading through nz customs web site, and cant work out if we would get charged import fee's or not??
anyone know what the exact rule/limit on this is?
Depends how it's labelled. If they find it is labelled as car parts, expect a 5% duty charge and possibly GST.
EDIT: That's if they inspect it - when I imported some car parts, they never checked them.
Try and get it labelled as a gift.
Well, it is a gift... for his diff
Exactly!
customs is funny with charging tax.
2 friends of mine recently bought parts from overseas
one bought a front facing plenum for his ca18det worth about $500-600 i think it got opened and checked at customs (there was a note inside the package saying it had been opened and checked) and didnt get charged any fees or tax
and another mate bought ITB's for his 1UZ for 1200 and got stung with gst and the duty charge
go figure
try get them to send it as a gift as the plates all together are possibly 5cm thick (for one kit) and ~15cm in diameter so 5 kits all stacked up could fit inside a ~15cm diameter tube x 25cm long which could pass as the size of a gift, its not like your going to be importing something huge like plenums/turbos/suspention etc
It all come down to id weir performace is going to be ok with being part of a bit of tax "avoiding"
Last I looked it came down to declared value. If it is over $400 in total (including shipping), it is likely they will charge you GST.
bad news guys,
i may have to call this one off, as the gst/import chargers will outweigh any combined shipping savings
the other option i may offer?
is bring a couple of extra kits back from the states in my luggage in september,
for those of you who are still interested then
Carsten,
I cannot mark your items as a gift since our shipping accoount is set up as a business. Also, if you want me to declare a lower customs value then I will only be able to insure the items at that value. If the items are lost or damaged during shipment we are not responsible for the loss.
Sincerely,

ill be in for later in the year
I should still be good for later in the year. Only reason why not would be if I went and got one before hand (not so likely at present)
