Quick update:

My list of around 220 venues is down to 160 odd, so far im not having much luck - venues that cater for the volume of people either dont have enough rooms or hotels near by, or the venue is already booked for a wedding.

I have several hotels on the "short-list" but the problem with them is the bedrooms are quite expensive, ranging from 60-100 per night - what are peoples thoughts on bedroom costs?

I would expect that sort of cost for a family room Barry.

Only other thing I would look into as well is quite a few hotels will only take 2 adults & 2 children in a family room. I have found this out with having 3 kids.

Today I have booked the venue, unfortunately however we have had to move to later in the month, this being due to previously provisional bookings becoming confirmed, but this venue ticks to many boxes to pass up and it would be doubtfull to find another venue on par or better than this.
