Ok all, the results are in - it's location hunting time, i really want to keep things transparant so everyone knows whats going on, if you have thoughts or suggestions please do stand up, this is afterall everyones party

I know there will be a few unhappy people, having to travel more that others but I hope you can appreciate that it won't be possible to please everyone - I am however open to suggestions and would like to accomodate everyone as practically as is possible.

Ok, so - using Jasons 200 mile radius suggestion I chose a couple places and created the following maps.

First thoughts are that the location should be in this triangle as its covers the majority of the hot spots, at the sacrifice of the guys travelling from Scotland

I guess it would be interesting to know where the 8 are in the south west. If they are all Bristol then you could slide the centre point up the country a bit and still include them, whereas if they are in Penzance it might not be best.

The other thing is to find out how far the people at the top of Scotland are willing to travel, then see if it is possible to get the circle to include that? There is no point moving it from Coventry to Manchester if it means less people from the south go and also makes no difference to the numbers attending from North Scotland...

Ok, as no-one else has commented i am presuming we are happy - Therefore, I have today located 20 venues capable of hosting us.. my criteria are, min of 60-80 Bedrooms, 200-250 people capacity, able to provide us with food, sufficient car parking, faclities to host our kids (and grownups) entertainment, close to all major motorways and within the area specified in post #49.

Will call them and see if the dates are available.

Right, guys - I've just called over half of the venues and came across several hurdles both with cost and capacity - therefore, I really need some numbers for this event, armed with this i can correctly determine which location and discuss costs with the venues and ultimately book somewhere

Please can you complete THIS form, information gathered is stored in a new admin forum i have created to manage this event.

I will set a time limit of 4 days and on the 24th of April i will take the numbers gathered and work with those.
