Red face Flat battery, can't get into car

Hi Guys, I stupidly left my lights on over a week ago, battery has gone totally flat and I can no longer use the key to get into my car (V6 24v 2003 Galant). I can't manually open by turning the key lock. All I can do is open the boot. Please can someone tell me how I can pop the bonnet to recharge? Many Thanks.

Will the passenger lock open with the key?

Door lock is mechanical not electrical. You should be able to open either driver or passenger door using key only.
It's the way I do when have some work on my car to finish and battery is disconnected.

If the locks stiff & won't turn with the key spray wd40 in it in short squirts, 2 or 3 should be fine then put key in & keep turning gently until it starts to turn

As most of these cars have either alarm fob which opens the central locking or you have a remote fob we don't use the key in the lock hence the lock gets crap in it & it doesn't turn.

Thanks for the replies, you know what? In the 6 years I've had my Mitsi I haven't ever used the key manually to open the doors! I'll give the WD40 a go. My gratitude to you all.

BTW, the rear seats do fold down but no way of doing it from boot from what I can see... or am I wrong?

Josh please go steady when trying your key & don't go turning to quickly.

Also try it in the other locks to see if it fits them as the key might be the wrong key? That is only a very slim possibility

If the door locks don't cooperate, I'd think the bonnet can be opened using a long screwdriver through the grille. But you'll have to know where to put it... It's a bit behind the locking mechanism, you should see a cable coming in horizonally which is attached to a piece of upright posisioned metal that you'll need to move to the right side (when being in front of the car ofcourse) (simulating pulling the cable from the cabin).
