Starting problems

My Daughter has a Toyota Starlet which is a great little car. Only problem is it refuses to start when it is wet. I have recently changed the plugs but it is still a problem. What should I be looking at next ?

Look on the internet and see if it's a known problem, and see what they do to remedy it Mark, if not WD40.

Aye, leads would be high on my list too. Try it in the dark and mist the leads with water. See if it turns into a firework display.

As nick says but also does it have a fuel cap that clicks when you tighten it ? as the lexus we have if you dont make it click 3 times its a pain as the engine check light comes on till you tighten it up silly idea could something simple like that lol

sounds like the inlaws old rover 620i, everytime it rained there was 3 inches of water in teh footwell and car wudnt start, i replaced plugs, leads & oil filter and was like new again

I changed the leads yesterday so we'll see what happens.

have you tried to see if anything gets wet under the bonnet? long shot i think, but maybe something in particular is getting wet making it un able to start?
