    front fog light switch

i have noticed that my front fog light switch works independently of the normal light switch ie i do not have to switch my lights on to activate the front fogs. Andy reckons that his is different so im just wondering which is more common. fog light switch turning on side and tail lights or having to activate side and tail lights before switching on front fogs

i like the uk cars with buttons as they prevent front fogs from being accidentally left on but so does the set up in my car

As I said to you Richie. My side lights need to be on before I can switch on the front fog lights.
The mighty Leedsnum has gone but the Airtrek mods will soon fill this space

On both my old cars - an st-r and a pfl vr4 I could turn the front fogs on independently.

On my airtrek I have to have my side lights on

My PFL Legnum has an independant switch. I didn't know there was any other variation.

Yes, side lights is the first click, as you guessed.

In my experience, JDM cars have a button that latches in place, turning side lights on as well as front fogs. UKDM cars have a non-latching button that turns on the front fogs, but the lights must be on first. Turning lights off and back on again at that point cancels the front fogs.

There is a way to get the front fogs to run off the normal lights.

There are two wires that come off the back of the switch that are the same color, disconnect one of these, and you will be able to run them together.

You need a working switch as you have to have it turned on, on the switch to make it go. It just means when you turn the lights off or on the fogs do to.

Mines a uk fl & can switch on front fogs without lights being on on the stalk. Aldo turns on rears & side lights at same time
Possibly the only VR4 that was driven by the current owner before being registered..... & it's a UK car
