Mods that won't break auto box?

Am planning to do some mods on my stock standard VR4 auto and have been doing a bit of reading through various old posts. My main concern is the strength of the auto transmission. So I'm guessing I should do:
    - better ATF fluid
-transmission oil cooler (I guess some sort of oil temp guage could be handy)
    - change just main computer chip for better fuelling - or does current chip (97 model) supply satisfactorty fuel up to say 15 or so psi or whatever is safe.
    - electronic boost controller and guage to keep a check on things.

Maybee some tuning shops/installers know the best way to do things and I should just take it in and get them to recommend and do it all? I'll do some ringing around on Wednesday after the holidays but I'm in central/west Auckland so if anybody does have tuners they can recommend in the Auckland area that would be good.

    Thanks.

you could always upgrade the auto gearbox as well, here in the states we do something called bulletproofing the transmission...you can read more on it here and here is the main page

The autobox seems to be able to handle quite a bit of extra power as standard.
If its gunna break, it will break, regardless of power mods.
Mine required a full rebuild after just 60,000 miles of un-modded driving.
Since the rebuild, I have been running 1 Bar boost with little ill effect to anything, excepting MPG :rolleyes5

When you had the rebuild did you have higher performing, ie stronger, parts used? Was reading details at links about bullet proofing the transmission. At http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/19162/
it shows details of Evo 7 GTA which I guess would have same or similar transmission to VR4 and they have reduced the engine power to 272ps from manual Evo and torque is the same as VR4. So I'm figuring Mitsubishi can't be all that over confident about this particular transmission.

Two of us in the UK have run 450BHP through the standard box with no apparent ill effects, and lots of us are running 350BHP with no probs. However, a couple of members have had issues at around 360BHP with output shafts twisting and clutches slipping.
