    EVO RS LSD Transfer Box

I thought I'd start a thread specifically for those who have replaced the front transfer box (open diff) with the LSD type from an EVO 4-6 RS. The handling of the Legnum is great, really great, but I did have one scare whilst in Germany that got me thinking. I suffered from power induced understeer (which put me onto the wrong side of the road!) and after some research into AWD transmissions I think it could be cured by fitting the front LSD. So I've got an EVO 5 RS transfer box which I'm looking to fit this weekend and I'll report back on the difference to the handling - specifically on understeer under power in tight to medium corners. I was contemplating upgrading to SAYC at the same time, but I'll leave that for later so that I can get an objective feel for the difference a front LSD makes.

I'll be very interested to hear your results. It is a mod that I would like to try myself when funds permit.

Interesting plan - we have had threads with discussion about oversteer/understeer with VR-4...

I believe that understeer is inherent in 4WD...

The different axle configurations present various solutions and perhaps ideal solution is more about how you drive the car so that your preferred set-up performs in a way that maintains your comfort and confidence...

I understand Scooby works best with power in, hard brakes then power...

I think VR-4 works best, for me, with power into a corner and committment to line - lifting off or vague control of steering direction can produce some unerving understeer...

All this works best in VR-4 with good tyres...
